I am kind of debating the magnificent acer predator 34 inch screen or the 27 inch Asus monitor. I'm not buying one any time soon but I'm just curious how big that 4ms is versus the 1ms. My current monitor is 144hz but not g sync :(

I got a 144hz 2k Asus with adaptive sync and I hate myself for not having a G-Sync monitor! Still I love the monitor, I'd suggest 27" 2k sweet spot!

Great question one I'd like to know the answer to also. I'm patiently waiting too, to see whats coming down the pike. I've been upgrading getting ready for a different monitor the 120hz 1ms works fine but I'm yearning for something bigger.

With G-Sync, it should not matter - 3 ms The really wide monitors still have black side bars for some software / games

I have the x34 could not be happier. thing is awesome. I have never noticed a latency issue. I also have the rog swift 1440p TN panel. its great for the fast repsonse time but the viewing angles are very poor and color is washed out especially when placed next to the x34 ips panel. If were in the market now I would say x34 or the 4k predator with g sync https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XB280HK-bprz-28-inch-Widescreen/dp/B00O0Z5682 I did not go 4k because I prefer the fast refresh rate. Also, I dont think I will do 4k till a 100hz +gsync ips panel is available and i have the gear to power it at 100hz or more. these are just my opinions. Depends on what is most important to you. Resolution, response time, refresh rate, color reproduction etc. when games dont support the widescreen the sidebars do suck like cool gtx says. But its the same as a 30 inch panel when the sidebars are up.

The 1440p 144hz gsync monitors are nice but remain plagued with quality control issues... I'm currently trying to get the Asus PG278Q but I've been through two returns so far for physical bezel damage from shipping and stuck pixels. Gotta play the lottery it seems. Third one is on the way for me.
And in my opinion forget the IPS PG279Q and Acer XB271HU as there are many reports of bad glow and backlight bleed among other quality control issues which makes the price hard to justify in my opinion.

I saw the predator in person, the 34 that is and if blew my away in terms of how nice the picture was and the smoothness of the game play.

Unless you play FPS games at high framerates probably not even noticeable. Basically any gsync monitor you get will be amazing and well worth it.

I have the X34 and I love it. I really only play BF4 and there are no black bars and the picture and frame rate is great.

GPU - Cable - Monitor Who builds the better - newest standard - system first ? Does the factory inventory and price premium warrant the change / what is the demand ?

Seconded. Next year we'll see much better monitors. Some high refresh rate, G-SYNC/ULMB VA monitors included.

I guess I'm the only one that has a Asus PG348Q. I like it alot. It's pretty much the same as the Predator X34 but I prefer the looks of the stand and easier navigation joystick of the Asus.

Does it lack a gamma OSD option like other ASUS monitors? Not much of an issue if you have a colorimeter or spectrophotometer but then again most people don't calibrate their monitors.

I also just picked up the Dell S2716DGR from best buy for $449.99 . I will say the new revised batch come with less matte finish and the quality is nice !

It has it. Like most people, I didn't bother calibrating it. The only thing I did was enable the OC the refresh to 100 and left it on FPS mode.
