I'd still ask EVGA support, make sure your MB is registered first

Here is a bios chip on ebay for your board. 16$ US. http://www.ebay.com/itm/B...132:g:p4QAAOxyItRTd-Ae
Comes flashed to the newest bios.
I bought a chip from them for my Asus P6T deluxe v2 and it worked great.
I gently used a pocket knife to remove the chip. I gently worked my way around the chip lifting the corners a little at a time and worked it out no problem.
Did not need any special tool to do it.
