So, after having a new living situation forced onto me by my job (not a bad thing, just different), I had to either get rid of my old case and transplant my old rig into a new case or build something entirely new.  Hearing about all the great things happening with the 10 series, I decided to build something entirely new with a case that wasn't monstrous in size and design (Thermaltake Level 10GT being my last case).  Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my hands on an EVGA 1080 due to the stocks being horrid at the time of my purchase, but I am enjoying their line of power supplies.

Parts List
  • Case - NZXT Noctis 450
  • CPU - Intel i7 6700K
  • CPU Cooler - Kraken x61
  • GPU - MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X
  • Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7
  • RAM - G.Skill TridentZ 2x8GB 3200MHz
  • Power Supply - EVGA SuperNOVA 1000P2
  • Storage - 512GB Samsung 850 Pro

Turns out if you mount everything the way NZXT wants you to, the fans block the CPU power terminal.  So I stuck the fans on top of the cage and put the radiator on the inside.  Looks much cleaner, in my opinion.

A lot more LEDs on this thing than I remember hearing about, but oh well.  They can be turned off.  Mostly.

All in all, I'm loving the way this thing looks and performs so far.

Thank you both!  I'm very happy with it.  It destroys everything I run (with the exception of a highly modded Fallout 4, but when you replace most of the textures with 4K variations, it eats performance)
