As the title says, I'm looking to replace my 6700K and motherboard with something else that offers more SATA ports. I have 6 on my current board and it's not enough.

I have a selection of HP Microservers and they do the job, but having six of them stacked on top of one another is getting tiresome. My plan is to buy a new motherboard or my workstation with 10 or so SATA ports and move some HDDs into there.

Here are my questions:

1. What are my options (platform, CPU)?
2. Is there a PCI-E card that offers more SATA ports (sorry if that sounds stupid)?
3. If I go ahead, where's a good place to sell my existing ROG mobo and CPU (and possibly a GTX 970)?

PS: The reason I'm asking here is because EVGA is known for support. I've found that to be severely lacking so far, but that was most likely just the person I spoke with.

ASRock Z170 Extreme7+ or Z170 OC Formula have 10 SATA ports onboard - that would let you keep the same CPU.  That or something like this card should do it: https://www.amazon.com/Syba-PCI-Express-Internal-Controller-SD-PEX40104/dp/B01BBXMLQK

I Do Not recommend this one though and try to stay away from Marvell Controllers as well.

    Thank you. The second link:

    (Amazon US): $79.99 USD
    (Amazon UK): £120 ($158 USD)

I'll try and find something else, or somewhere else.
