Stupid question. That standoff that has a pin sticking out of it to hold the mobo in place while you screw. That's ok to leave in there correct? Its not gonna cause a short or cause any issues without an actual screw holding the mobo down?

Also for standard ATX, I shouldn't have to add a standoff correct? The built in ones should suffice?

Would either of you happen to remember.. Is the top of this metal nub threaded? I had pulled mine out trying to install a different board, and now that I'm installing an atx, I'd like to put it back in. One side is threaded, the other isnt. I remember it being real tough getting out. I think the threaded side was up.

both sides were male and threaded. though if you want to put a screw in that location then put one of the male/female standoffs in its place.

Shouldn't cause any problems. Same size a regular standoff would be anyway. It's actually a huge help for me, once I noticed it anyway. It is threaded, but I didn't see any nuts or caps to use with it.

I have a picture I'll upload when I get home, one side is smooth, other is threaded on mine, I used the threaded side , works fine after some twisting back in with pliers. It also appears to be slightly shorter than other standoffs, I compared with another. That paint is pretty cheap on the inside.. comes off real easy, all the paint where the mobo connects to the built-in standoffs is all rubbed off after only one install.
