1080Ti won't be out until Feb-Mar 2017.  That is about the 6 month period that Nvidia holds on the Ti version being released AFTER the flagship Titan X.  So, don't hold your breath too long ;-)

And, we'll be really pissed when Nvidia releases the 1100 series with HBM2 (finally) later in 2017

You will see how Hybrid look inside case compare to Sea Hawk.
And EVGA offer Hybrid for fair price, at least for USA market, for EU we will see.
But 729$ is really competitive price. Cheaper than Classified and both have custom PCB and 8+8 pin and same clock.
But Classified look extreme well through Window Side panel.

Good luck finding one.  These cards are only in stock for 30 seconds at a time, with wait periods of 2 weeks between each brief 'in-stock' status.  The production rate of ANY GTX1080 variant card is absolutely horrendous.  Nvidia should be ashamed of their lack of capability to produce these GPUs faster.  This issue is causing a huge delta between supply and demand.  3rd party scalpers are buying up all the stock and reselling for $250+ over MSRP.  Had Nvidia produced these cards in mass quantities, these problems wouldn't exist.  One would think that Nvidia would eventually get it right, but sadly no.

Guys who bought Founders Edition could freely to install Hybrid kit...
I saw pictures and with NVIDIA famous backplate (same as on GTX980) graphic card look extremely nice.

I agree that buying a Founder's Edition and then adding the Hybrid kit is a viable solution.  However, in all honesty the best bang for the buck would be to buy the base GTX1080 card for $609 and then install the Hybrid kit, which would save you $90 vs. the Founder Edition upgrade option ;-)

And how is your EVGA Hybrid running when you get it more than 60 days from now?

They are all good cards.  Slightly over clockable, but mostly the same in terms of the numbers.  The waiting game can only go so long.  If I snag one next week, great, but little to zero chance of them having 30 or more available.

Sadly, the EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid will not fit in small form factor cases such as the M1 NCASE.  The PCB is too large and runs up against the side door.  The case can be physically modded to make the card fit, but most folks aren't willing to cut into the metal just get a card to fit.  Also, 3rd part PCI-E adapters are required as well in order to allow the power cables access to the 2 x 8-pin PCI-E connectors.

I wait Hybrid card, not kit, GTX1080 Hybrid.
Maybe is not even so important 8+8 pin, but definitely is better.
I would not complain even with FE+Hybrid kit but Founders Edition 700$+120$ Hybrid Kit is 820$.
But EVGA GTX1080 Hybrid cost 730$. 100$ less and 120MHz higher clock.
Hybrid kit is nice solution if someone didn't want to wait and now have Founders Edition.
I saw a 2-3 video clips where people complain on temperatures, even want to back their FE models.
In that situation if they have card 120$ for nice temps is OK price.

And the Sea Hawk isn't a great card?

I installed my Sea Hawk last night. In the default OC mode the boost clock immediately jumped to 2012MHz stable and after about an hour the temperature settled at about 50C. No overclock yet and with only 1 8 pin power connector. No coil whine and the pump is silent.

I don't stare at my card when I'm playing a game. lol But the Sea Hawk blends in well once installed in my opinion.

I understand that you like EVGA, so do I, but the wait was starting to get ridiculous. Originally we were told the Hybrid was to be available at the end of June and here we are on the cusp of August still waiting. Good luck trying to get one once they are released. You can always buy one for $1500 on Ebay once the snipers get them.

How much is base clock on Sea Hawk, I didn't saw?
Yes you can buy any GTX1080 reference and install Hybrid only you lose clock and you have 225W (8pin)space for OC instead 375W (8+8pin).
I think and EVGA have some cheap GTX1080 Gaming version for 610$.
I would install Hybrid no matter on brand. Better than 85C in games.

wait,what....
will the 1080 hybrid be a lot longer than 980ti hybrid?
and do we have to use a power adapter when we gonna install it? which makes it even more longer?
Because if thats the case,im not sure if it will fit in my XL R2 case.
Im gonna have to check my manual to see how long it is and the gpu will cover any sata ports ot and fan internal headers.
Im planning on getting the 900d case eventually, but it will still be the same problem if it covers any important connections on my mobo.

Yes, the new EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid uses a non-standard PCB which is both longer and taller than the GTX980Ti Hybrid (which I have installed in my secondary mini-ITX gaming system).  The new FTW Hybrid will not fit in my M1 NCASE mini-ITX case without modding it (cut metal away) :-(  I would highly recommend you check the hardware forums for fellow XL R2 case owners to verify whether or not the Hybrid will fit.  It probably won't.

Yes they do - very nice touch I have to say.  I wish EVGA would get more 'bling-bling' with their back plates.

I have two MSI GTX1080 Sea Hawk EK cards on order and will be replacing my two EVGA GTX980Ti SC+ cards (pic of them in my profile pic to the upper left of this post).  Looking forward to finally being able to attain playable frame rates in all games with max settings at 3440 x 1440 (on my Acer X34), and UHD (on my Acer XB321HK)

Follow Jacob on Twitter. He gives a heads up there most of the time and also in this thread. Other than that it's just luck.

It probably won't.

thanks for the helpful information you provided, tho Im kinda sad if thats the case,no pun intended.im gonna have to check the length on it and check the length on my mobo.
I dont want the gpu cover important connections that will make it really hard plug out and plug in cables.
if thats the case, ill just get the seahawk x and be done with evga pascal,I really like the length of the 980ti hybrid.
why oh why did it had to be ftw pcb.

edit: is there a xl r2 case sub forum/topic here on evga forum?

edit2: perhaps its best to get evga FE+ hybrid kit if its shorter pcb
if so,is it hard?
I have never tried things like that

I'm honestly having a hard time believing there will actually be a TI variant this time around.  With regular 1080's maxing around around $800 give or take depending on the vendor, cards and price gouging and the Titan XP costing $1200 where is the cut going to be.  The existing 980TI cut memory in half more or less and the price in half roughly.  The 1080 already has 8gb and isn't super slow compared to Titan XP (obviously benchmarks will be the Tell Tale here).  The only way I see it is the TI steps into the 1080's price point and the 1080 reduces in price which is then a trickle down effect for 1070 and 1060, etc etc.  Seems more likely at this point we would see the HBM cards or the next generation (i.e. 1100 or 4000 whatever they call it) in 2017.

People who bought Sea Hawk miss one great card because impatience.
LED Logo on black background with 4 small screws from both side on metal surface look better than ever.

I'm making peace with SLI seahawks, Vlad. But yeah, I would have preferred keeping EVGA brand loyalty in my components when ponying up $3k+ for my tower components (still a cheaper hobby than owning & maintaining a Jeep or a Boat).
I've had nothing but EVGA cards for my nVidia boxes since I sold my 6800 Ultra's back in '06 for some 8800GT's, and never regretted it. But I'm learning to love the 'stealthHawks.
You're right though, what actually makes the EVGA hybrid better in my mind NOW is....they're $30 cheaper, which would've saved me $60 for a pair. The improved PCB is nice, but Economics is king. That was a smart pricing move on EVGA's part. As long as the AIO continues to be reliable and they bring enough stock to market, they will trump my MSI cards over the next few months. Either way, I'm not crying in my Oculus.

only thing now is to wait for it to come to EU,which will be in like 3-4weeks.

There's no official info regarding this, right?
Is the release gap usually 3-4 weeks between the US and EU?

How much is base clock on Sea Hawk, I didn't saw?
Yes you can buy any GTX1080 reference and install Hybrid only you lose clock and you have 225W (8pin)space for OC instead 375W (8+8pin).
I think and EVGA have some cheap GTX1080 Gaming version for 610$.
I would install Hybrid no matter on brand. Better than 85C in games.

i'm not quite sure why u keep bashing the MSI Seahawk. is it based off pure EVGA fanboy feelings?

looks are subjective and i personally think the Seahawk looks good. i don't see anything wrong with it. honestly, i think the Seahawk would look better in my build that's mostly white and black. add in EVGA's terrible stock quantities and i don't blame anybody for looking elsewhere for their 1080.

it's already been proven that the extra power phases do nothing for overclocking. my FE 1080 hit a higher maximum (2153) than my Strix OC 1080 (2132), but that extra 21Mhz on the core clock means diddly squat when it comes to any kind of real world performance. it's all about the sustainable core clock that's based on your case's airflow and how well the GPU's cooler is performing to prevent throttling.

I think it's strange that people who are buying other brands are still posting on EVGA forums, is there no gigabyte/msi forums?

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Yay, you got a Seahawk. Good! Now get off this forum if you don't have anything worthwhile to contribute.

EDIT: I apologize for this post. I am just venting my frustrations on those who already have their cards and are actively gaming with them. I love EVGA, but this launch has been really disappointing. Nvidia has a lot of blame to share in this as well. At the end of the day, we are all here because we are passionate about AIO's and gaming. Please accept my sincere apology.

Oh I'm fully aware, I also bought a 1080 strix a while ago of which I made a joke about it being an FTW.

but coming from previous gen hybrids, I was not happy with the heat, even though it's air heat was lower than what I've seen in the past...that and, someone offered me a lot of money for it, so, that put me back in the seat of going with a hybrid. I should be receiving an EVGA FTW today, full well knowing a hybrid kit will be on the way, that or, if I'm able to, I'll buy the hybrid when they are available.

But truthfully, had I decided to get gigabyte's option (or MSI which I would not have as I don't want a FE PCB card, preference.) and I was happy, I'd have no reason to be posting here anymore.

I started this thread because I wanted a EVGA Hybrid but it didn't happen because EVGA couldn't get product out to their potential customers in a timely fashion. Which is why I and many others went to the competition. Why does it matter to you that were still here? We are all enthusiasts sharing our passion for gaming.
