The update includes Windows Ink, enhancements for Cortana, a "more power-efficient" Edge browser, and more.   Link

Won't happen. They don't make much on upgrades and retail copies of Windows. They make a lot more on selling Windows to Dell, HP, etc.

Do you see the small sliver in Orange on the right side under "Retail licensing/upgrades?" That is what MS makes on consumers purchasing a new version of Windows. To lose that wouldn't hurt much.
They will save more money than what they make selling retail copies in the future when all other versions of Windows are obsolete. They will have to support a hand full of OS's instead of roughly 15 currently.

You only have 2 days to get Windows 10 free, so all you haters will have to pay over $100. to get it (and you will eventually get it)

Not everyone will purchase Windows 10. There are still quite a number of individuals/companies which are quite pleased with Windows 7 and do not necessarily need any substantial upgrade to their OS of choice. That particularly blanket statement of yours isn't necessarily true. It's not as if the major application manufacturers will drop support to any previous OS tomorrow.

You are correct, "It's not as if the major application manufacturers will drop support to any previous OS tomorrow." but the drop is eventual.  I too like Windows 7 (I still have a machine that has W7 on it) I am just stating that it will go the way of WinXP, Vista and all OS before them eventually.

It will eventually but not for quite a long time. XP is still around, though hardly supported by applications at this point. I expect that Windows 7 will be (estimates only) about the same amount of time the XP was popular. I hope, however, that other OS's will be embraced by the gaming community so that the only OS of choice will not just be a Microsoft option.

Too much drama for me. Windows 10 and Microsoft are just full of surprises. Too much for my heart to handle with my recent quadruple bypass surgery.

Cortana can mostly be turned off. It still stays as a local search and bing internet search.

Does anyone else find it a little creepy knowing that your PC is listening to everything happening in your resdence just so Cortana can hear her wake up command when summoned? I leave the 'Hey Siri' option enabled for amusement purposes but I am starting to worry about how much my iPhone is actually recording and reporting. Does it snitch me out on what TV programs I watch and which commercials I mute? Nah, I know I am just getting paranoid but I start to ponder when Siri is counting how many sheets of toilet paper I use in a sitting. (pun intended). Sorry, I couldn't resist that one.
