Support didn't really have an answer to this and suggested I post my problem on the forum.
Whenever I try to activate KBoost in PrecisionX OC, I get a message to close the following 3D applications then try again. The problem is, the applications it's asking me to close aren't 3D and I really have no way to close them.
The programs it wants me to close are ns.exe (Norton Security) and digidata.host.exe (this is part of Cox Cloud backup). I sometimes see iexplore.exe and other browser exe files but these are present only after using the browser and do go away. I can temporarily disable NS and sign out of the Cox cloud, but this doesn't help.
I'm using an EVGA GTX1080 in Win 10 Home 64bit.
I am not sure why this isn't seen as a bug by EVGA. Their only response was KBoost is very restrictive in its use. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You'll need to uninstall norton & cox cloud backup. Should be good to go then.

That really isn't going to work. Uninstalling your firewall, virus protection and cloud backup seems a bit drastic just to get KBoost to work. I hope you were being facetious????
Again, I really consider this a program bug. These aren't 3D programs.
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

The ie and chrome exe are using GPU acceleration for their windows. Battle.net a other programs do this also even if they aren't 3d graphics.

I am having the same issue in windows 10.  Just thought of it now  wondering if disabling start at OS for win 10 would help.,  I am going to try that later.

You just have to get them closed while you hit the Kboost button. Start em back up afterwards, sadly these programs are stupid to use gpu acceleration for UI elements.

The problem is you can't close either program without uninstalling them. You can disable Norton Security but that does not help, I tried it. You can only log out of the Cloud Backup. And that didn't help. This was stated in my original post. Again, this seems like a bug that EVGA needs to work on. Thanks anyway.

Well, I assume they meant stopping/killing the process when they said 'close the program'
