1.C is the latest bios. You should use 4 sticks of ram, make sure they are installed into dimm slots 1,3,7,5 as shown in the manual...

Your motherboard comes with two bioses. Does the issue occur on the secondary bios?

Hi,

I have two bios, one has 1.B and one has 1.C

After posting here I went to the website to download it and updated my secondary bios with it, the issue is like sometimes it will show sometimes it won't

Just now I was playing the Witcher 3 the computer shuts down in the middle of the game. But I'm glad to say it didn't showed the red led light near the psu cable connecting to motherboard and refusing to let me boot.

But I'm sure the red led light thing will show up when I try to boot it up in the morning.

The ram issue is when I try to put 4 sticks like in the diagram it refuses to post, but when I do 6 sticks it lets me post. or 1,2,3,5,6 < sticks. I make sure to plug them in in the right slots (by looking in the manual) 4 sticks doesn't work unfortunately.

Have you tested ALL Ram 1 stick at a time ?  You would not be the first person to get "bad" new RAM.

Is the RAM listed by MSI & / or Kingston as compatible?

Did you set the RAM voltage manually ?

How about the timing ?

Hi,

Yes, I have tried 1 ram at a time on 1 slot at a time. on the first slot I tried all my rams, I even did a memtest for couple of hours and it passed without any issues

Everything is set as stock, I didn't even overclocked the cpu, I do overclock my gpu from time to time for benchmarking purposes

Timings I'll check, but I haven't changed them

Yes, it is listed by MSI as compatible :

Sounds like the board is broken. Ask msi tech support about the red light. Shutting down in the middle of a game points to a psu issue or a overheating issue on either the cpu/gpu or mb.

If the PC fails to BOOT

1) Instead of waiting days, pull the A/C plug, then push the power button to remove all energy from PSU, plug back in and Boot.

2) If it still will not Boot, clear the CMOS

X99 MB, important to keep CPU level while installing & not to squash it either.

Set the RAM Voltage manually ---- do not use auto, should increase stability @ boot

1) Thanks for this tip, I'll try it next time it refuses to boot.
2) I do try cmos but I can only do it using the clear cmos button, the manual or battery is out of reach due to gpus but it doesn't seem to help much.

How much voltage would you recommend me to set them ?

I have asked the MSI tech support, but unfortunately no one seems to know about it :(

So I suppose they wouldn't be the issue, maybe it's the PSU issue..

Try running each gpu individually with the other completely removed from the system. Maybe one of your gpu's is causing the problem.

stock voltage the memory mfg lists

Note: also, do not squash the MB mounting screws - snug is not gorilla tight, you can damage the MB if over tightened
(I only use 1 finger & thumb to gently tighten the MB mounting screws)

I'll try that, btw I have also tried using just one GPU GTX 750 from Palit, for a day or two just to see if it'll show the symptoms, unfortunately it did after a day. :(

I have changed my cpu from 5820k to 5930k also, changed GPU, tried a new PSU from EVGA G2 850W Nova to Corsair AX1200i

Yup, I have done that. My case has a out of case rubber feets which I can pull out and attach the rubber feets. I built my pc on that and tested everything on that.

4-pin or 8-pin ATX (CPU) power --- is it connected like on page 2-8, manual quick guide ?  Notice which side they connected the 4-pin.

Never seen a manual that did not list what the LED indicate --- going to have to ask MSI

Noted, I'll try to put 1.35V as stated on Kingston website.

Regarding the screws I was really careful as once I tighten the radiator screws way too much and broke it, so I've been really careful after that, haha

BIOS issues --- do the "BIOS dance"
1) Boot into BIOS
2) select default
3) save
4) reboot & enter BIOS (again)
5) edit BIOS
6) save BIOS (again) make the changes you need like memory voltage
7) Reboot PC

This is the "BIOS dance" --- just a phrase I coined, cause that is a lot of steps

Back Panel (page 1-10)

▶Clear CMOS Button
There is CMOS RAM present on board that is powered by an external battery to store
system configuration data. Using CMOS RAM, the system can automatically boot into
the operating system (OS) every time it is turned on. If you wish to clear the system
configuration, press the button to clear the data.

Make sure you confirm factory default jumpers & BIOS settings are selected, unless you chose a different setting

I would not mix RAM size 4GB / 8GB on the MB, use one or the other

But my 16GB (8GB x 2) are only 2133Mhz and 4x 4GB rams are 3000Mhz and were quite more expensive. I guess the issue is with the motherboard and I'll send it for RMA once again.

Except benchmark software; you will probably never notice the speed difference with the naked eye.

The 3000Mhz is OC RAM - when you run XMP it may change CPU timings

The 3000 ram will boot at 2133 speeds when first installed/booted. Only after enabling xmp mode will the ram run at 3000MHz.

I used to have this board and I used Kingston hyper x predator. After returning the first board (because it had bent pins out of the box) I got one to post. This board however would never post and I would get that red led with any changes to the ram voltage and or timing. Even enabling XMP would make the board not boot. If the overclock Genie (which is total garbage on that board btw) was used it would also cause intermittent fails to post and that red led would turn on. To get it stable i had to turn of xmp and make sure everything was run at stock. I could then restart (but not pull the power) and make manual overclocks to the board. I could never get my 5930k totally stable above 4.3 with that board but on my X99 classy its totally stable at 4.5.

MY opinion is that that board has some kind of issue in the traces or VRM causing power fluctuations or something similar. Always seemed like dirty power to the ram.

anything faster than 2133 on the ram would cause it to not post as well.

It used to boot with 3000Mhz rams, until a week after I got my RMA.

After a week it stopped, not sure what changed.

So you used to get the same red led ? I have decided to sell this board and buy a new one, which one you'll recommend, except EVGA cuz I can't find EVGA boards where I'm located :(

According to this (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=184137.0) forum, it's a power fail indicator?

I would, if you could, make sure all the power connectors (including the 8 PIN one for the CPU) are properly seated and
if that doesn't help, try a different PSU..?

AMD Ryzen 7900x3d
Deepcool LT720
Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX X670 (Might change..don't like this board)
eVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming (Hybrid kit on it)
Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ 4k Monitor
eVGA 1600W Supernova T2 PSU
32GB Kingston 6000 DDR5 (2x16GB) Fury

Actually the thing is the system was working flawlessly with the same power connectors connected, but suddenly when I try to start the pc it shows this error, then I have to wait 1 or 2 or 3 days sometimes even a week and try to start it and it works.

without changing anything it just works

I have tried 2 PSU
Corsair AX1200i and EVGA G2 850W
