Very nice builds guy's

Yes I can't chose best build in Hadron, all of them are excellent.
I didn't know... EVGA ACX CPU Cooler, original old one is possible to fit in Hadron?

Idea with cables was excellent.
Really bad because EVGA didn't install 600W PSU inside.
Problem was probably to find good platform for normal price in that format.
I mean bad for people as you, many configurations could work and with 500W.
Reason why I like Hadron is because remind on Iphone from front panel.
Desktop PC will not gone only people will figure out that they could play same with much smaller RIG and bring them when they go somewhere on 2-3 days easy. More problem will be to remove monitor than whole gaming RIG.
I read for lot of cases where people sell nice RIGs for gaming laptops and after few months sell them and build small rigs because gaming on laptop and desktop PC never can't be same. Like I say I expect smaller pumps, reservoirs, maybe even 80mm radiators, smaller graphic cards with HBM2 memory for 5-6 years at least 50% of people will have Mini ITX boards and lot of them Micro ATX.

Hey! Here's my contribution to the thread. Had a great time tearing apart, cutting, drilling, sanding and painting this case. A modest core i5, 16Gb RAM and a gtx970. EK, XSPC, and Alphacool WC parts paired with bitspower fittings. Still haven't named this PC. Any suggestions?

Whooh...this is crazy good inside...I like clear tubes same as black and red.
Only I think front panel of Hadron is mark of that case and should stay in original state.
You should make and interior photos.

Regarding the name, y'know, being that it's black and in the middle of the billiard table...how about "Lucky #8" ?

Golden #8 cuz of the gold :P

I don't have an actual build log but I can take some pics and point at the various simple mods made, some mistakes and lessons learned. I'll update this later on.

I don't know why more people is not interest to build Intel i7 with Z chipsets on Mini ATX boards in Hadron.
Z chipsets are better for smaller RIGs.
EVGA offer Hadron in right time when NVIDIA have GTX980 and people could build i7+GTX980 on Hadron PSU.
EVGA Z170 Stinger or EVGA Z97 Stinger Core3D + Intel 730 SSD everything could work on 500W PSU from Hadron.
EVGA Stinger have new Intel NEC I219 launched in Q2 2015. LCD Monitor is in advantage compare to ASUS because show CPU Temp...
I can only look AA whole time... I mean stupid... They could implement one more function just like that without lot of effort, CPU temp, VRM temp or I don't know...Even clock is more useful thin this after boot. That was my first question... How to change AA Code on CPU Temp...
Answer was.... You can't! What?!?!... 100 functions and I can't see CPU temperature from other room during stress test... Bad, Bad!

Re: Official Post Your EVGA Hadron Thread! 2015/11/02 03:57:42 (permalink)
Hey guys!
I've been looking to upgrade my current build from my Silverstone RVZ01 to something watercooled. I like having my pc on my desk, but my current air setup is making a lot of noise (plus there is no window, how am I supposed to bask in my hardware's glory then!?).
My first idea was the Bitfenix Prodigy, but I don't like the orientation of the motherboard. I love the look of the EK waterblocks and I'd really like to be able to see it. The other option was the Bitfenix Prodigy M, but thats an mATX build.

Then I came across the EVGA Hadron! Now, THIS is the case I am looking for! My only thought is now. Do I go for the air or the hydro version? I much prefer the look of the air, as I think the hydro looks quite "oblong", and I don't like having the tubes running outside the case.
I'm inspired to try and see if I can watercool inside the hadron air, like the Gold Nugget on this thread, but I'm worried I won't know how to cut the fans down so they fit. Does anyone know how this was done? Do I need any fancy tools?

Really cool builds all around, I can't wait to join the club!

Oh and that white/metal air build with the noctua fan grill looks _AMAZING_! I might just skip the watercooling and go straight for something similar hehe.

You have two options for WCing the Hadron Air:
  • Install a 120/240 rad at the top and mount fans on top of the case, with the grill removed.
    • This shouldn't require any case modding, and is fairly simple. You will notice an increase in dust however, CONSIDERABLY.
    • If you have pets, exposed fans isn't a great idea. In addition anything, and I mean anything, that can get in between two fan blades will fall through.
    • Use the long screws that come with your CLC and screw in from top. It's more than long enough to go between the fans, case, and into the radiator screw holes.
  • Remove the front panel entirely and drill holes to mount the rad there.
    • It only requires mounting holes as the front case is perforated for ventilation already.
    • Note, you can't install the second top fan this way. Clearance issues and such. Ventilation will be about similar however, maybe even decreased to chipset temps.

Pic related, I moved to mounting on the front:

My build for those interested.......

Basically an evga 780ti (corsair hg10, 120mm push/pull fan water loop, o/c, max Temps low 50s degree C)
i5 6600 @4.5 (92mm radiator, push/pull silent fans on corsair pump water loop, Max temp on Intel burn @70 Dec C).
Kept the two 120mm fans on top as extraction.

Re: Official Post Your EVGA Hadron Thread! 2015/12/23 17:36:55 (permalink)
Hadron Hydo Case.

Mostly done, I need to get a 6gb/s 180-90 connector for the harddrive still and am waiting for the OS to show up in the mail. I should probably mention that my previous computer is a 7 year old laptop(Dual 1.9 ghz + 128 MB integrated graphics and 2 GB of Ram... ). It sorta had to go... badly. This is the first new desktop for me in about 7 years. And the previous desktop, before the laptop, was a slightly refreshed HP from 1996-7 (upgraded to XP, 20 GB HD, 256 MB of Ram in 2000) is still around... somewhere I haven't fired it up in years.

Work in progress( =/ still cant link yet... must be the lack of posts)

I completely removed the stock fans as they were non controllable and replaced them with Noctua NF-F12 PWM Cooling Fans. Also, by removing the stock fans you do gain enough space that you can run the tubing that comes with the kit and not have to use the metal coil. Which is nice. I do wish however that I can cut away as much of the case along the top as possible but I'll do that down the road.

Parts List(

In the future I think I will order another WC from EVGA and mount it above the first one and then have the water pass through in Series for extra cooling and then maybe toss on another two NF-F12 fans. The Ram is Corsair 3000Mhz 8 GB sticks (16 GB total) and the chip is the 4 Ghz 6700K Skylake. The motherboard is the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII IMPACT. I do however plan on getting the GTX 980 Ti Hydro Copper down the road. I think it will fit... The Intel on board graphics is supposed to be fairly good and that will have to do for now.

My biggest, and only real complaint, really is probably the fact that the stock fans are not controllable and the wide strip of metal that exists between the fans.

With just playing around with the on board BIOS and letting it sit for an hour transmitting to the screen the temp never went above 25c and the fans were hardly on. Seems cool enough. But like I mentioned, I have plans to go overboard on the cooling for next year. I have also been figuring out how to fab all the metal needed to make the case look stock while still having two WCs(one on top of the other) and the stock grilling placed on top. I also plan on installing a T at the very top (with a basin for filling) and very bottom with a valve so that the whole system can be drained and filled as needed. I think I can do it. I have all the machine tools to do it.

Long term upgrade plans.
Install a GTX 980 HC or 980 Ti HC.
Second WC for a series loop.
Upgrad the Ram to 32 GB eventually.
Maybe larger HD in mirror then the current 1 TB WD Blue

EDIT: Added in images and a link. Build is now up and running and no problems. Idle temp is 21-25c and running flat out is 51-55c.(fans are turning about 450 rpm and not nearly the max of 1500 rpms) Could not be happier tbh when you consider that the Idle temp of my Dual 1.9 ghz laptop is basically 41-43c and running flatout it is closer to 58-65c. And the old laptop is slower then crap... =/

Project: Blue-Thunder
Completed 2 days after X-mas 2015 (nearly 1 whole year delayed!)
My Son and I labored over the PSU sleeving and wire management - his general introduction to PC mods.
Glad to see this forum is still running active for the Hadron builders.

Very cool! How are temps with the front mounted rad? Is it one-rad-only? What pump/res combo is that and was it difficult getting it mounted?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm looking at WC'ing my Hadron Air as well.

Under max load, cpu gets to 35c and gpu max has been 65c. Im doing a push pull. The pump/res is a ekwb ddc with a pump top and a 100ml tube res. The pump/res was the easiest in this build lol.

This is the end of about 3 months of on and off work and waiting for parts and being lazy I've been lurking on these forums for quite some time now. (this has also been posted on overclock.net forums)

I'd like to thank Wanou for his inspiration with project milk (I would not have had the courage to cut my power supply cables had it not been for your guide!). I'd also like to thank teflontanten's project black and red which was a good starting point for what I wanted the end result to look like.

Let Me Start off By saying that this was my first attempt at any custom water cooling whatsoever and also the first time I've ever built a mini ITX system. This was also the first time I've ever attempted any sort of power supply mod.

A few things I learned:

-Watercooling fittings can get F@*KING Expensive!!!
-It's good to take breaks and step away from the project for a while to come back with a fresh mind.
-The Hadron Hydro is an extremely hard case to work with, BUT if you throw enough time (and money lol) into it, it will turn out amazing

When I began this project I first thought I'd buy the Hadron Hydro and the cooling kit and make a few mods here and there. I quickly realized that this case is (no offense to anyone) pretty ugly if not heavily modified. This is when I started burning a hole in my wallet! The only thing I kept from the Hydro cooling kit was the radiator!

I started with removing the HDD bay and also making sure not to completely cut out the optical drive tray as I wanted room for a blu ray drive. Then came the task of shortening all the power supply cables and attaching pre sleeved extension cables, which is a must with this case if you want it to look good on the inside!. Then came the task of attaching the reservoir/pump to the case with 1 inch long nylon spacers so I could route the ATX power wire behind it and to the motherboard. Then I drilled holes for the wifi antennae. The last thing I did was mount the SSD and HDD onto a bracket that holds 2X 2.5inch drives and then attached it to the power supply, putting it directly under the GPU. The GPU is actually hiding most of the wiring for me, so thank you GPU!

This is still not finished as I have not done any lighting which is going to be another pain. I'll update with pics once I accomplish this. Also I'm working on changing the reservoir top to a multi port top so that I can fill this thing more easily. The clearance between the fan and reservoir makes it impossible to fill via the port on top, so I implemented and extra port on one of the outer tubes that connects from radiator to the "IN" port of the pump, although this does not work well at all and I need to tilt and move the entire PC around in order to fill it, so at the moment the reservoir is not filled to an optimal level.

[PARTS]

-EVGA Z170 Stinger Motherboard
-Intel I6700k Processor
-Nvidia GTX 970 Stock (place holder for pascal titan )
-32gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Memory
-512GB Crucial SSD (forgot which one)
-1TB 2.5inch Seagate SSHD
-Lite-On DC-6E2SH Blu-Ray reader/ DVD writer (No Blu-ray writer has the proper eject button placement. Even on this the drive the button is about an inch higher than where the case button is supposed to hit. Some double sided adhesive was used and it's not a perfect solution, but the eject button works if you press really hard )
-All matte black Bitspower fittings
-Bitspower PETG tubing
-EK-XRES 100 D5 Pump
-XSPC EC6 UV Green Coolant
-EVGA supplied Radiator
-2X Corsair quiet edition sp120

Great little build.
Hadron Hydro is for me better option than Air version because give you small but very important place.
i7-6700K-EVGA Z170 Stinger and when you install Pascal inside you will have best performance at the moment and easy to take
PC with you if you go somewhere.
Maybe EVGA should think to re-design Hadron in mATX Format.
I would like to see that.

Yes Hadron is still one of most attractive little case.
Mini ITX board and i7-6700K and GTX1080 are perfect for Hadron.
If Intel launch CPU with 6 core in mainstream soon popularity of little case will become even bigger.
There are great build here but personally I like most when front panel is intact and original.
Last build with Hadron Hydro and water cooling stuff is incredible.

n4v1n that build looks amazing.

EVGA, are there any plans to make a successor to this chassis? I've had a very solid build in mine for some time now, but I'd really enjoy the option for an additional radiator in place of the archaic HDD cage. Most folks with Hadrons probably aren't running spinners anymore.

Because it's been asked many times, you can easily run a 980 in this chassis in the loop.

EVGA will probably in next 1-2 year to launch some successor... That would be nice, but little bigger...
Size should be on first look as Mini ITX case, small but with option to fit and mATX, 120mm fan on back side and 240mm on top.
On that way people could use some 240mm CPU cooler and EVGA Hybrid graphic card.
And front side should stay similar. PSU could be behind motherboard tray on side, same PSU type as in Hadron, only with 100W more, 600W.
If PSU is on that position, installed cables could be very short, maybe ribbon, non modular of course, maybe naked wires because more space.
PSU installed with nice cable management only to customer have enough space to connect graphic card and motherboard and SDD, HDD.

For now Hadron is great and for office and for powerfull Mini gaming RIG.
There are some flaws of Mini ITX board but last 2 years people have good choice of USB Sound Cards.
On first place i7 Intel Processor, I'm ultra fan of Intel i7 and he is great for fast work, surfing, Word, Excel, ...
He have nice graphic card with Broadwell and Skylake generation if people don't need graphic card... But good graphic card is always welcomed and Founders Edition is great for Hadron, small power consumption of Intel i7-6700K and GTX1080 FE are perfect for Hadron,
