PG's
Challenge series continues with the Summer Olympics Challenge
with the Riesel Problem Sieve as the project.

Sieve projects can run on all cores, so hyper-threading can remain enabled. The wu's run pretty quickly so we can rack em up during the 3 day challenge.
Start time is 8-2-16 at 21:00 UTC which translates to 5:00 PM EDT on Tuesday the 2nd of August. Adjust to your time zone.

Thank you for the reminder yodap. I will have the 5930k up and running. I have a G34 4P that was recently given to me that I would love to add in, but I just dont have a place to put it right now.

It's funny I was just thinking that these wu's should run well on a multi P. I wish mine was still working but I fried it good. lol

Bah, got home and started working on other things and forgot to start. I'm up and running now. Decided to stay at stock speed's due to heat, but 12 threads are up and running.

I'm a little confused on scoring. Are we awarded points on a unit as soon as we finish it and it's turned in? Or does the unit have to be validated first? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm probably just not reading things properly.

As far as the contest, the score credit per work unit is awarded right away. The stats are updated every 15 minutes. All wu's go through a double checker eventually and if there is a problem then the contest score will be adjusted later.
In the FDC stats you probably won't see too much action for a day or 2.
If you go to your account page at PG, you can see the status for any of your work units, under(Tasks)

We fell to 6th place. [H]ardIocp is not in 5th.
They have a cruncher who came up real fast, fitting name too FastGeek. He passed Duke and is at #2 individual.
Good for him, I am impressed.
I fired up all I can, all my Intel and set the one server to HT that was not on.
Can't fire up my AMD servers, I am out of PSUs.

Did you see his (fastgeek) arsenal of processors? Impressive.

    Hi there Team EVGA,

Since there seems to be a little but of interest, here's a list of processors I currently have going on this project.  Am fortunate to have access to a lot of idle hardware, however it does fluctuate from time to time.  At the moment a project went cold... so am doing my best to keep the CPUs hot.

BTW, hi there, Orange_1050.  You notice who took over 5th @ SkyNet?

Hi there fastgeek, and welcome to our forums. Pleased to see you here.
Oh yeah, I noticed the SkyNet. Also I have had my sore eyes on your insane RAC over there. 620K + ?????

Some boost you did/ do on the PG Challenge. About time someone else flexed some muscles over there .

Your sore eyes must have been tired... was over 850K RAC for a while.  I was done with SkyNet until the Pentathalon came along... then got sucked back in.  The next trophy is at 500,000,000 points; that's too far off for me.  For now I'm happy to sit in 5th... but never know... I might come back again.  :)   Am only doing well in this PG challenge as it's CPU based; if it were GPU I'd be hosed!

Welcome to the forum fastgeek, glad you could stop in and say hello.
I see you hit first place for a while, then dropped back to 2nd.
Still have some time to go.
    Good luck

Thanks, Bill.  Am back in 1st for the time being.  Will be interesting to see how things look in ~8 hours!  Zune has an army of computers under his account; I don't have nearly so many, but they do have a lot more cores on average.  ;)

    Well done everyone.
Bill gets the carrot and orange and tanner get the greens. I thought 5th was doable until that high speed train blew by us, but it's all good. (hats off to fastgeek) Good competitive spirit as always.
If it was a 4 day contest, robby would have left me behind.

Back to trying to figure out what's next. If anyone has a pet project or a Strike Force suggestion, let it rip.
