Well, I'm honestly not sure. At first I changed the brightness with the Nvidia visualizer. I didn't run Precision X at first given the bug reports. Once I installed Precision X OC I changed em to green. Haven't noticed them change since. I have crashed My system many times since then. Precision X OC kept putting in unstable overclocks.

This is nuts. I honestly don't believe it myself, but I just ran an OC value on startup that I knew would crash the system and now it works. Saves like a champ. I set it at +200 core and +600 memory, shut it down, and on restart it boot looped and sent me to bios. I loaded default values and booted- BAM RGB saved!!!

I don't know if it was something I did or you magically reached through the internet and saved my RGB selection. Regardless, thanks for your post. haha

My heart broke a little more when I just installed 6.0.3 and my freaking LED's still do not save color.

It really cannot be that hard can it?

Not fixed yet, plan to fix in in next release.

Well fortunately it has randomly began working on my FTW. No more complaining from this guy in the RGB department.

For those who are still having issues, can you try the below Beta version? This will save the color settings to firmware:

http://www.evga.com/DriveHQ/Download.aspx?file=EVGA_PrecisionX_OC_Setup_v6.0.3.1_Beta.exe&survey=16.0.3.1

For those of you who have installed this beta, would you recommend someone like myself install it even though my RGB save function is working properly now?

For SLI you need to set each card independently, they do not sync.

Hey ADMIN JACOB
I just wanted to let you know GOOD JOB on the new EVGA precision X update.
It was awful at the beginning and I was not even able to get 2070 Mhz on my ACX 3.0 gtx 1080

With MSI afterburner I used to be able to get 2088 MHZ but never the magic number of 2100 Mhz

Thanks to the new update of precixion XOC I was able to hit 2105 with air cool ACX 3.0  and with only 74C under full load.

Let the team know that GOOD JOB man.

Same here, I seem unable to get it to save the rgb color. That said, it's a bit silly that evga has not put more effort into this, making the rbg lighting a lot more customisable like different colors for different loads.

In your video you're using EVGA Precision X OC version 6.0.2 -- you need to be using the BETA (linked above), version 6.0.3.1

I just wanted to note:  This is why I buy EVGA always.  Even when there is a (small - yet annoying) glitch, between the community and the stellar customer support at EVGA, a fix is out in no time.  One time I had a pretty nasty boot issue and couldn't figure out what was the culprit - an Asus motherboard or an EVGA GPU.  The ASUS tech (err operator, this guy knew nothing about computers) was just flat out awful.  It was literally like talking to a scripted brick wall.  I should have called them first, but then EVGA spent 2 hours on the phone with me diagnosing the issue, and guess what?  It was the ASUS Motherboard!  They're so good they fix competitors problems! LOL!  Thank you EVGA for being awesome and recognizing what it means to build trust with the consumer and as a result having some of the most loyal fans out there.

Re: 1080 FTW LED Issue - Not saving color profiles upon system reboot or wake from standby 2016/07/26 18:22:50 (permalink)
i installed it and it works much better. Save color and demo settings to the cards and thus the FTWs go into the demo 2 mode at system startup.
Being able to access each card separately and have different colors is nice as well. Just remember to save the settings change for each card.
The increments for the core clock and memory OC aren't tied to the sliders, takes a bit to realize that if you don't OC in the accepted values (like 25 at a time) it won't apply.
Perhaps adding a help note to the sliders letting users know the accepted increments?
There are a couple program incompatibilities I've noticed. 3DMark will crash at test run with Precision open. However, if I close it, the system retains the settings and 3DMark runs fine. Same with Handbrake. Just close the Precision GUI and everything's fine.
I really like that it seems that all instructions in Precision seem to be written to the cards and not dependent on the software GUI remaining open.

Good work, EVGA!

We are making a change on this to write the selected LED color to firmware instead, this should resolve all the issues.

Have these changes been made for the 1070 ftws too?  Along with the coil whine, having to set the color everytime I turn on my computer and differently colored zones Im not enthusiastic about mine. Paid 50 bucks extra for less quality... so disappointed

Where, and why, did you pay "50 bucks extra"? From the lowest 1070 to the highest, there is only a $30 difference. I do know there was a few days where it was a slightly wider gap for pricing, but where are you seeing that you paid extra for less quality. The precision beta was released a few days ago to patch this and has been published as so multiple times over the last couple of days.

I really should have mentioned that Im in Canada, so 50 bucks extra for Canadians is 37 for Americans. There is also a larger range on 1070s if you want to include low end designs. I revised my comment before I saw yours to reflect less frustration anyhow. I imagine Evga support will help more than a retail store so getting frustrated with evga before even talking to their support is unreasonable. The 50 buck thing however is accurate. From the ridiculously ugly and gigabyte windforce to the leaf blower msi aero both at 530 cad last time I checked to the FTW at 615-635 and MSI gaming x at 619-645 in some stores. Even for only EVGA models the base acx 3.0 is 579 and the ftw right now at canada computers is 635

AH HA! exchange rates do change a lot of things, so now I understand completely.

Did you try the beta link that Jacob posted to the new precision? With the beta precision, it should make the colors properly work during reboots.

I just got a 1080Ti and i also have a 1080. The 1080 used to be rainbow LED but after I installed the 1080Ti, only the Ti has the option of having a color?

Anyone else experience this??

I have the same problem on my 1070 FTW. This is ridiculous. I'm thinkin' of canning all EVGA products from now on and moving elsewhere. Spend $100s on a GPU and can't even fix a simple LED bug almost a year in? It's mainly the software. XOC is so damn buggy.
