Thanks for responding, ty_ger07.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the Ti. It's been running perfectly for 18 months in its previous Windows environment. In fact, it still is. This new rig I'm building has a split-personality. I've installed W7 onto a new SSD drive, and that's the one that doesn't see the card as anything other than a standard VGA adapter.
But if I switch the hard drive cables back to the regular hard drive (which still has the old W7 install), the card is working fine there.
Re the problem with the original card, I seem to recall that it started to intermittently show corrupted graphics.
Regarding drivers from geforce.com, that's another issue. Like, which driver should I download? It wouldn't be the first time an updated NVidia driver has caused problems for me. I have no idea which driver was likely to be have been issued for the GTX560Ti.
