    How does this differ / improve from Samsung's current 3D SSDs?
     
    Seems to be a patent attack, but ours is horizontal 3D

    I'd still like to see SSDs drop further in price

    SSD is all about speed, is it fast? If my threshold for buying is capacity I can still go spindle drives.

    Using a massive SSD for storage scares me because it is almost impossible to recover data from a failed SSD if it is possible at all. Data can still be recovered from a failed HDD.

    No, the data is safer in the SSD; but, you will need professional service to retrieve it  $?
     
    However if your spinning hard drive dies and it is only the control board -- your in luck - otherwise $$$$ for clean room service

    SSD or not, you still have to remember to "backup" things.

    All data backed up and a system image created on a daily basis. No sense in taking chances. I make a secondary system image on the HDD every month. The chance of all of my SSD and HDD failing at the same time is not a probability so I think I have all of my bases covered.
