Just built myself a new Skylake PC. Everything in the case was silent the first night I booted up, I moved it back to my workbench, then did my cable management for the back panel of my NZXT S340 and closed it up and moved it back to my desk.

Since then I get a quiet but noticeable clicking noise from my G1 750W PSU. I can't tell if it's the fan or the power supply itself. There's no cabling in the way and nothing was slammed/dropped, etc. (I did lay the PC on its side) Could this just be the fan alignment is screwy? Or is the clicking noise something internal that I should be concerned with?

    Hello, Castrator86,

I would first like to welcome you to our forums. Your 750W G1 power supply should have make any type of clicking noise. If it does appear that the noise is indeed coming from the power supply with no visual indication of something hitting the fan, please contact our support team directly at 888-881-3842 who are available 24/7 making sure that the power supply is registered to your EVGA account so we may assist you with warranty services.

    Regards,

Curiosity got the better of me so I took out the PSU fan and that was the issue. The spring on the inside was bent and causing the fan to push out to far and wobble when spinning, grazing the edge of the frame.

I tried getting it to work with the spring, but ended up just completely removing it. Everything is silent as can be now.

Also, might I mention on this issue, maybe don't tie down the fan cable with the rest of the wiring, seems like this would be a much easier fix to just replace the fan and having to cut the zip tie without the rest of the wiring looked nearly impossible.
