So it looks like they are still pushing for another Battlestar Galactica reboot. In my opinion, the 2000s version was about as good as you can get and I haven't seen too many tv shows even get close to being as epic.

The last reboot was well done. Curious if another reboot can do the same

The moment the reboot went philosophical is the moment it went to crap. If they reboot, they need to dump the hidden meaning mystery crap. Last thing I care to have is my sci-fi preaching to me and failing miseably at trying to be deep and ideological.

Not to mention just too long winded . Where were the epic space battles ? The original TV series was cheesy , but at least we saw actual fighting !

Please keep Battlestar Galactica away from SyFy hands, that network loves to cancel Sci-Fi shows after 2-3 seasons.

Too soon, the last reboot was some of the best TV ever.

@biscuit1 there were plenty of epic fight scenes, did we watch the same show?

Besides they already attempted a reboot:

Man that was funny. How could anyone want another episode though? They wrapped the ending up better than almost any show I have ever seen. I mean, I wish that show would have gone on for 10 more years but it ended perfectly. Even though Caprica was interesting, I don't think any prequels could match BSG. A reboot would be cool since the story was awesome but since they can't top it, I almost think it is best to leave it alone, like The Goonies.

That was a pretty decent show and the story was good but boy, it got pretty cheesy in the middle around season 3 or so.

Season 3 was super cringe. What makes me doubt humanity in general, some people absolutely loved Season 3.

The dog in my avatar is my husky, I named him Tigh after Saul Tigh the XO. His documented name is Saul. Tigh. <my last name>.

Man that show was just nuts.
Remember when they killed all the representatives, that was some Game of Thrones (Edited out for Language)

OR how about when Adama took his ship back from Gaeta.

OR what about when they realize corners were cut to build the BSG to save money and Adama was like (Edited out for Language) bro.

Anyone who hasn't seen this series should watch the first two episodes (1.5hrs each). If you cant get into it from there then something is wrong with you.

I would like to think that I am a man. Maybe not much of a man but none-the-less, I am a man. After finishing BSG, I cried like a little girl and was stuck in thought for a good hour. I wish I could share how epic this show was with my wife but it got pretty racy with some themes that had me uncomfortable a few times. I wish I had a device that could wipe my mind so I could tell myself to watch this again.

ummmm so your wife can't watch it b/c you think she is a girl or because she isn't a nerd?

They just dumped all the episodes on HuluPlus, this is your chance to watch again (for free)!

She doesn't do well with violence and the weird three way parts. I can't remember all of it but I know there was some pretty bloody and steamy scenes.

The special effects were alright, but I could never get into that show. It was just weird and the twist of everyone being a goofy robot was too much for me. I feel like it's a show where being on drugs is required to enjoy it.

Violence/other in a TV show, well thats a new one ....

I grew up watching old westerns, Star trek, Andy Griffith,Mad Max, Monty python and the Beverly hillbillies,
but most of the crap on current now see onTV/films. Growing up, you didnt dare cross Mom/Dad and your Grandparents,
my point, when are adults and parents going to standup to this garbage! Ay least teach your kids and your selves to think for your selves, and not let the screens teach you.....

That's what I liked about the show. There was no aliens or time travel plot lines needed to drive the show. There were only 7 humanoid "robots" and the fact that they had human flaws and personality traits worked because that's how they blended in. I wish it was a little less spiritual but it will always be one of my top TV shows.

I'm more interested in the new Star Trek. The thing about Trek is that typically the guys doing movie props gets the tech right in some forward thinking manner. I'd like to see what they envision with it being 2017 for the show and how they portray future tech. The thing I really don't like about any recent sci-fi show is how they infuse political message into their storyline. If anything would get me to not watch sci-fi, it would be using it as a soapbox to preach at me about something.

Another reboot? It doesn't take much imagination to create a new sci-fi universe and create vaguely similar plot elements, and just make a new series based off that. This obsession to reinvent old shows and movies is getting absurd. If they can't create something new in the first place then why should anyone expect a new or inventive series the third time around. The second BSG series set the bar high anyway, I don't see another doing better.
