Hello everyone I'm considering buying a 950 SSC for my folding/secondary gaming rig. I see that the backplate is optional on the SSC. I love the backplates on my dual 960 SSC SLI setup on my primary gaming rig and was wondering how I can get the 950 backplate? Thanks

They don't have one on the store so I don't think they do one for that card, however the 950 FTW edition has a backplate already fitted when you buy it so maybe that card would be a good one for you if you like the aesthetics of the backplates? :)

GIGABYTE GA-990X-GAMING SLI
16GB Kingston Hyper X Savage 1866
AMD FX 8370 @ 4.8GHz (I'm a peasant :D)
EVGA RTX 2060 KO GAMING
22" Wide Screen Samsung S22C300

Yeah that's the problem, the website specifically says that it's optional for the SSC, and yet the store doesn't have it,nor is there an option to order one with it. I know the FTW is only a little bit more in price, but I believe that the SSC is just as overclockable especially with the backplate, and I can save a little money. EVGA has been my go to company for graphics cards since around 2004? (in fact I still have every graphics card I ever got from them including my FX 5700LE which was my first graphics card from them) Now they're even my go to company for power supplies, great quality parts, great quality service and support. So that's why I'm confused why it says is optional if there's no way to actually get one? I guess I'll have to contact support directly and see if it's just advertised incorrectly.

I would just go with the prefitted one to be honest, I wish I'd researched better when I was getting my 970 ordered as I got the FTW edition, only to discover that the FTW+ comes with better power connection and a prefitted back plate... I have a plate on order now but it's still annoying as I had to really search high and low to find a seller that didn't charge a fortune for postage... (EVGA wanted £19 to ship me my £15 back plate...)

So anyway yeah... I would just go with the pre fitted unit and avoid the risk of it ending up unobtainable if the backplate is of real importance to you.

Good point, in fact it may end up being the same price... Plus I just got an email back from support, even though the card has been out since August the backplate still isn't available for separate purchase yet although they say it is coming

I know this post is a little old but figured I would share in case you are still looking. EVGA website does have the backplate listed now.

The backplate is ~$20. The FTW model is $10 dollars more versus the SSC model. Conclusion? Spend the $10 dollars to get the FTW with the backplate installed.

I agree and that's why I did that exactly that yesterday ;) just thought I would point it out for those who might already have one.
