I'm not American but I would sign if I was.

The EPA are a bunch of idiots. They should worry about cow farts, not people having fun with cars.

EPA cracks me up. Reminds me of their Colorado mining cleanup where they released millions of gallons of poisonous chemicals into a river last year by accident. Who got fined for that? No one, because the EPA can't fine themselves to generate revenue.

Um, the petition lists the proposed regulation as "medium and heavy duty vehicles". The petition is making it out as if its for all consumer vehicles.

Here is the regulation proposal from the EPA: http://www3.epa.gov/otaq/climate/regs-heavy-duty.htm

Something is fishy here, just saying.

People should know that cow farts release more green house gas than anything else.
    The more you know.

How about dealing with the real pollutants first, then worry about people modifying cars.

Just like gun laws, this wouldn't be an issue if on the books laws were just followed. Almost every part people purchase and install on their cars to up the performance by any reasonable factor is labeled for off road use only. There was a big brewha about this with diesel tuners a while back where people would literally purchase a puck that connected to OBDII and turn up the power and smoke belching capability of any diesel.

Heck, being in florida I am more worried about the people running swamp buggies on the highway where their floorpans sit higher than my head when I am in my ram 1500. But that again is just another case of laws on the books not enforced. 6" of lift, not a problem, for the most part your truck is still going to hit anything but a dropped car. 15+" with tires to match and you now just roll right over the car in the case of an accident. Likely crushing anyone inside.

The motivation behind the laws is the ridiculous part.
Living in Car Modding Nazi WWII Era Germany...I mean California, we have crazy restrictions on aftermarket parts.
I can configure my car with "off-road" parts and tune it (now supposedly destroying the environment per CARB regulations), but the emissions measured from my tailpipe are actually reduced dramatically.
In this case the laws actually prohibit me from IMPROVING the emissions of my car....retarded.

If the whole point is to protect the environment, shouldn't I just have to pass a test of the actual emissions coming from the tailpipe, regardless of mods?
The answer is no, because then the gov. wouldn't be able to increase their revenue.

Our government recently came to the conclusion that emissions testing was a big waste of time and money, so they stopped testing and did away with all of the facilities.
