The Acer Predator looks interesting, I'm just wondering if I should wait for the ASUS version of it, or maybe wait a good while longer for a Gsync OLED (may be a year or two, perhaps more?)
Ultra-wide doesn't really appeal to me that much, and I don't want to go back to 2560x1440 let alone lower after jumping to 4k.
Hmm.... My vote goes for the Acer, for my needs, but then again I buy monitors way to often. (lets see, 3 monitors I'm using, 1 in storage, one mom is using, and 2 and relatives houses, maybe I should sell a few?)

I'll stick to my 27 inch HP I bought back in December last year. Might not have that Gsync\Freesync tech but hell I love this thing a lot.

The 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 10 places are all gsync. If you are talking about variable sync, thats because variable sync is probably the greatest tech for monitors in a long time and it is well worth it imo.

Vs drinking the G-Sync koolaid? Koolaid is Koolaid regardless of which ever flavor you drink.

Pc gamer needs to tighten up. In their review of their #1 choice being the acer, they review the gsync version with no mention of freesync. But front and center they show the display on amazon at $950 down from 1300. Too bad that is for the freesync version only. Some poor guy will read their review not realizing theres a freesync version and buys the display they have linked only to have to pay return shipping when they realize they didnt get the gsync version that was in the review.

I'm waiting for the imminent Asus PG348Q (direct competitor to the Acer X34). Rumor has it that it will be retailing later this month (e-tailers in the UK are already accepting pre-orders).
