Hi I have a GTX 970 FTW edition that I think needs to be RMA'd. The card came without a backplate but I ordered and installed the backplate for the 970. If I wish to RMA the card does the backplate need to be removed first? it's the backplate for the 970 from the EVGA shop but as stated it did not come pre-installed on the card I did it after the fact.

Thanks,
moon

I would return the card as you received it...without the backplate.

    Hi moon,
    Welcome to the forums!

You would remove the backplate if it did not come out of the box that way. Hold on to the backplate while you RMA the 970. If you have the original screws, please restore them on the card as well.

Thank you for the reply, I am not sure I have the original screws still, if I do not does that disqualify me from an RMA?

Not at all. If you don't then use the screws that are currently on the card.

Thank you for your prompt response. I will apply for my RMA sometime this week.
