Built a new system and tried to hook it up to my Samsung u8550 4k tv but I keep getting unsupported or no signal.
I tried 1.4 and 2.0 cables. Works fine on my Sony x br 6 1080 p tv. I even hooked both up at same time. It recognized the Samsung but I couldn't get it to work.
Plz help.

If you have more than one HDMI input on the TV did you change the HDMI source on the TV? For example if you're plugged into HDMI input 2 did you change the source with the Samsung remote control to switch to that port?

Hi, yes I did. I even changed to name it pc. I tried all the other ports on each card. When I had both monitors hooked up it recognized the Samsung but I couldn't get it to go higher than 1080. When the Sony was hooked up

So far I got it to work......so ....so.....
So I went into nvidia profile selected uhd, also I have both monitors hooked up, chose multiple displays and now it's extended onto my Samsung at 3840x2160. But when I chose to only display on to samsung it has no signal or unplug the Sony same thing......I'm stumped?!?!?!

Thank you for the link....However my question is not answered. I read the entire thread and my conclusions are a. My drivers are the culprit or b. I have a older model of that TV and the chips et doesn't support?

I'm going to call Samsung later today and report back.....

EVGA has 24/7 tech support, which I know for a fact will be much more helpful than Samsung. I'd try calling them first, I bet they'll fix your issue. They've always been a pleasure to work with in my opinion, knowledgeable and dedicated.

I have the same TV as you do how i got mine to work was i turn off my PC and then unplugged my hdmi cable from the TV and went in to the  menu screen on my TV and went to Picture Options and then select  HDMI UHD COLOR then select the hdmi port your using for your PC and press the on switch then confirm you want it on and wait for the TV to turn off and turn back on now turn your TV off again and plug in your hdmi after that turn on your computer and you should be able to get 4k @60. Also make sure your using the PC Resolution in The Nvidia control panel and dont use the screen resolution setting in windows . I Hope This helps

Thanks everyone. I solved my issue.... it was the rocketfish 2.0 cable that could NOT achieve 4k resolutions. I plugged in an old Monster and voila! So everyone should stay away from rocketfish!
Btw.....4k is overrated. Didn't see much of a difference other than poorer graphics performance. The picture looks on point at 1080p.

Glad you figured it out! Rocketfish makes some stuff that's ok, HDMI cables aren't one of them, haha. 4k is one of those funny things right now, you have to have the right type of source media and you have to be sitting within a certain distance from the screen. I have a 28" 4k@60Hz ASUS monitor and sitting just 2 or 3 feet away from it stuff looks amazaballs and I definitely notice the diffference in picture quality, but as you mentioned things don't run as well as at 1080.

That being said, I have never seen a prettier sight than TW: Rome II at 4k with everything turned up, it did make my 970's hurt though, around 30-50fps. I attended the Homeworld panel at PAX South last weekend and they said Homeworld's textures were authored with 4k in mind, so I'm very excited to see what that looks like next month.

If you have a Samsung Tv, Turn off Samsung Instant On. I know it gives problems with 4K 60fps signals. If it's on, the signal will be lost when the tv is powered down and you'll have to unplug the HDMI and plug it back in for the signal to come back. Well it's not your HDMI, it's Samsungs Instant On feature not remembering the correct resolution when the Tv powers back up. Turn that feature off and it works everytime. It's funny cause I got off the phone with a Samsung rep earlier today who tried telling me it was my HDMI cable. I have two high speed HDMI with 18Gbps. I paid 59.99 for the AudioQuest cable at Best Buy just because the guy was trying so hard to tell me I needed that cable for my new 4K tv (js9000). The issue is definitely not my cables.

4K is better just because you don't need to use AA while gaming. It's so smooth that there's barely any jaggies. Not having to use AA, means more performance gain.

Just an FYI for anyone who doesn't know, Rocketfish is a bestbuy owned product. Should tell you a thing or 2 about a thing or 2, not "all" store owned merchandise is going to do what you want it to do. Could have been a defective item.

Glad to hear you got it resolved. On my Samsung JU9500 I had to try a few different cables. I found that Monoprice high speed rated HDMI cables worked great for 4K with 4:4:4 and 60Hz. They're probably the best priced cables that work reliably from my testing.
