I was wondering that as well.  
 
Personally I think that would get annoying really quick.   And I have yet to spend any caps on anything.  I have enough crap stored that I can straight up trade enough of it for what I need.  Usually what I get from merchants is ammo that I have a hard time finding.  (.308 and shotgun shells) and rarer crafting materials.   But the merchants so far haven't had anything that I just have to have.   I can almost always build what I need or want from stuff I looted.

I agree with you on this, especially if you have to look through tall grass to find the coin(s).
 
For me, I have plenty of 308. My shortage happens to be in 5.56 and even more so shotgun shells. When I come in with a load of loot to sell I look for those 2 item first. If they have it, I sell and buy the ammo.
 
Just out of curiosity, have you noticed that you can not get any items that are copper, steel or any of the many other bulk items that are listed under "shipping" from merchants that you establish?

There is a perk that does just that but now you have to decide where (area wise) to eradicate them. By this I mean terrain wise. Try and find a weapon in tall grass and that generally (for me) becomes a lost weapon. Gold coins are a lot smaller so bring your metal detector.

What? You mean they just don't fly into my pocket? I have to look for them? That's no fun but it does look cool.

I changed my carryweight in the console. In real life I would probably look like a porcupine with all of the rifle barrels sticking out of me!

Sometimes I wish Bethesda games would be private server multi-player so friends could co-op group. MMO random players kill the fun in games though.

I keep meaning to get that perk. I usually end up getting something else though. I have the lone wanderer perk so when I don't have  a companion I can stuff about 430 or so in my pockets.

 
That's a lot of weight you can carry. Do you have any special armor and or mods done to it to increase the weight limit?

He did specify friends though.  I have a buddy that's awesome to co-op Borderlands with.  Sadly, he's loves his console and had no interest in building a gaming PC.
 
I have been sidetracked from Fallout.  I downloaded XCOM2 last night.  I told myself I was going to wait awhile, but look how well I stood up to myself.

For those that are looking to save money on the purchase of FO 4, Steam has it on sale as of this posting. I did not look to see if it was cheaper elsewhere and it may be. The but to this is I don't think Steam accepts caps as payment.

I have deep pockets on all the armor and the lone wanderer perk strength at about 7 or 8 and level 3 carry perk.

I've only romanced Piper.   Cait continues to come on strong.  But I like the bookish types more than I the drug addict types.  Even though we got Cait cleaned up.
 

I travelled with Piper for a while but didn't seem to be getting anywhere with her. So tell me...    what turns her on? Gets her going? You know, likes and dislikes. I knew that Curie disliked me taking advantage of someone by trying for more caps and Cait disliked using chems but what exactly makes Piper tick? She seems so bland. There was never any comment like 'Piper disliked that' or 'Piper adores you' like I got from Cait or Curie. Is Piper any good in combat? After all she's a journalist who spent her life sitting behind a typewriter. Which reminds me I have to join up with that Hancock to finish my Silver Shroud quest. I currently have him banished to The Castle raising a carrot crop. I guess I just have a mean streak in me.

Generous is my middle name of course except when it came to that chem dealing granny wench from the bar in Diamond City. I took her to the cleaners and Curie disliked that a lot! Too bad. Crime doesn't pay expecially when I catch you breaking the law in Fallout 4. My Karma was so good in Fallout 3 that I had a never ending trail of bounty hunters after me because someone put a price on my head. OK, so my plan is as follows: 1) finish the quest with Hancock. 2) Travel with Piper until I can romance her then dump her. 3) Travel with that Railroad guy I can have as a companion. IDK if I'll get any exclusive quests from traveling with him or not. 4) Re-establish my relationship with my one and only true love, Cait. I just hope she'll have me back after slumming around with those other women. We were made for each other!

Hanging with Deacon is pretty cool.  He's one of the better companions to run with.  He's far less likely to jump in front of you and block your shot during a fire fight. 

Yeah, that's him. Thanks for reminding me of his name. I know I had to do one quest with him already but don't remember what it was for. Every time I enter Railroad HQ he tells me to go see P.A.M. but nothing happens when I try talking to her. I am busy placing monitoring devices for Tinker Tom and suddenly Preston Garvey has a slew of things that need my attention again too.
 
NOTE: No, I am not going to romance him.

I finally reached the highest affinity with Curie and then I romanced her. What a let down! She only asked if I slept well while Cait gets up limping claiming she must have pulled a muscle or given herself a cramp. Cait is much more frisky. Now it's on to Piper for my next conquest. Have I forgotten anyone? I don't know if Glory at the Railroad is available but she seems mean. She's a Synth too.
