Well to be honest, I was pretty annoyed with EVGA. I had to RMA my x58 motherboard 3 times, while to this day my Rampage II Extreme still stands. A few years ago I bought an EVGA 660 GTX as it was a good card especially for the dollar. About 2 years later the card started giving me grief and the famous driver crash error started happening. I RMAD the card and when I got it back a month later it started doing it again and EVGA wouldn't pay for shipping both ways. I warrantied the card again but this time around they sent me back a 960 FTW, which is just a better architecture.

I must say, I am pretty impressed EVGA just sent me a 325 CAD video card. They just re-earned their lost respect back in my books with their great warranty service. I know stuff happens and bad parts come here and there but I've done many RMA's with EVGA lol. Anyways Thank you evga for the step up card, that was awesome.

EVGA has Great service, warranty and this form !

That is why I have spent several thousands of $$$$$ on their products.

The question is never ---has anything ever gone wrong with your product. (all companies have warranty claims)

The question is ---- what do you do when something goes wrong with your product.

EVGA seems to say --- we will make it right --- by the actions I have seen on this form

People are often quick to complain but not so quick to compliment, so it's good to see posts like this. Thanks for posting GloR1ouS, and props to EVGA, as usual. :)

It was pretty awesome and unexpected. I also like how evga is lightning fast at responding to tickets. I gave the 960 to my brother as I already bought a 970 (500 cad) lol our dollar sucks.

I've been watching the value of the CAD for a little while, and I really feel for you guys. I'm pretty sure this is the lowest conversion rate I've ever seen.

Glad to hear that. Personally I've always thought it pretty dumb the bit about "equal or greater performance" as opposed to equal or greater value. A $600 card with a lifetime warranty (which is what the old ones had) shouldn't be replaced by a $200 card 2 years into its "lifetime warranty". Just IMO. I know it's good for business short term, but I suspect that has a long term impact as well. It's great that you got a x60 card back, I'd say you got very lucky.

Technology improves so quickly that a GTX 960 is more powerful than a 670, and nearly as powerful as a 680. This is the reason we replace with equal performance and not equal value, and why an older card that cost more isn't worth as much as it was when it was new.

Let me ask you something Halo_003; when you buy a new car, and then trade it in 3 years later, do you expect to get the same amount you paid for it back? It's a related idea. Technology improves so quickly that a GTX 960 is more powerful than a 670, and nearly as powerful as a 680. This is the reason we replace with equal performance and not equal value.

Haha this is so true. It's like the minute you buy a brand new car you lose money. Computers are the same really, as soon as new tech comes out you've lost money. A few years you've lost even more.

Let me first say I do appreciate tech support and the warranties my cards carry. Just from a consumer standpoint I don't like that the warranties in the industry cut cost by replacing a $600 card with a $200 one.

However, the car example is not relevant because that's dependent on market price. A better example would be if in 2014 I had bought a top end Tesla Model S ($145k roughly),and one day it burns itself to the ground while charging, at the fault of the manufacturer while within warranty period. I sure would be quite unhappy if they delivered me an entry model Model E/3 ($35k roughly, TBA), because it's of equal performance. (Both are Teslas, both get me A-B, both are electric, both are able to be put on Autopilot, etc).

Again like I said, I get it, it makes for good business, it saves you from having to ship out a just released $600 card to replace a 2 or 3 year old $600 card. It's very economical for the business, which is why AFAIK all the brands in the industry do the same thing. That doesn't mean I have to like it though.

I agree with the equal or greater performance replacement policy. That's why you decided to buy your original video board to begin with isn't it? Gaming performance as in Frames per Second. The only products that should be exempt from this policy are the Kingpin models. A Kingpin should only be replaced with another Kingpin because you pay so much more to get the extra perks of owning a Kingpin video board. It wouldn't be fair to replace a 780 ti Kingpin with a GTX-970 because it got higher scores in a benchmark would it?

That is correct. The 780Ti Kingpin will not be replaced with a GTX 970 if it is lower in performance.

The 780 ti Kingpin shouldn't be replaced with a Plain Jane 980 either, only a 980 Kingpin.

Corsair support is good when applying for an RMA. Their forums really stink and I won't even bother asking for help there. I will go straight to their RMA site. I made a comment in a post by someone else also having probelms with their new M65 RGB White gaming mouse. I was worried that this would be a similar issue as the K70 with LED burning out. When I checked to see if there were any responses since I made my post I found out it had been deleted by some goose stepping moderator. No reason, no notification, just deleted. If I had to rely on their forums I promise that this M65 RBG White gaming mouse would be my last purchase from Corsair especially if this is the way they treat their loyal customers. I own Corsair cases, PSUs, RAM, keyboards, mice and a H80i along with coutless other items I have bought over the years because I was told they were a good reliable company.

EVGA has the best customer service for a major hardware company hands down.

If I could go back and do it again I would have purchased and EVGA 970. I went with MSI because they have a depot in Canada and also my rotten luck with my evga 660/x58 board. To be honest though EVGA warranties my stuff every time and that's all that matters. The only down side is, it takes 2 weeks to RMA something. I never would have imagined them replacing a 660 for a 960. I know the 660 chip itself was flawed and not just EVGA's branding. All over the net the driver crash error occurs. I figure if anything they would have sent a 760?
