as mentioned, was wondering if its ok to do so without having any troubles/conflicts . as for PSU i think its ok as the old gtx580 needs 350w at full load while the titanx needs 250w full load

You mean the SR-2 power supply or the board? The PSU is 1500w if I'm not mistaken. The titans shouldn't use any more than that, unless you have tons of other things that you're powering.
As far as the board, it should be fine. I believe there was an insane build that was running 4 titans in SLI a few years ago.

Thank you for your input. I ment the board itself however the power supply is 1200w . There will be a power saving of 200 watt as the titan x needs less power. Just wanted to make sure the sr2 will take those two babies without any issues.

just found that SR2 supports  "Seven (7) PCI-E 2.0 Slots" while the titan x & titan z requires PCI Express 3.0

does this mean the SR2 wont take them??

They are backwards compatible so you can put them in PCIe 2.0 but you wont get the full potential out of them. As far as wattage they look to be about the same:

You would get full potential. Even single pcie 1.0 16x would not bottleneck any card So 2.0 would have no problems
