Also my 970 ftw+ will not run at 16X even when it is on the top slot and the M.2 Pcie is on the bottom...

But seriously the 950 pro 512 is running at Seq Read 832  Write 685  BOO!  ( it is also the C drive now )

The 850pro shows seq read 6229  Write 5063  Randoms are way off the charts.

I haven't reformatted the now D drive (850 ) but it isn't being booted from anymore.  Was thinking I would have to reformat it just in case that is causing the cross results but this is insane.

Any Ideas??

Odd, thinking maybe I should get 850 pro instead of 950 pro then. Any correlation with it being the boot or OS drive vs only a data drive with the drastic differences in speed?

That CPU only has 16 Express Lanes so you have limited resources.

That is one reason I decided to get an X99 Micro 2 and an i7 5820K because I have 28 PCI-E Express lanes

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

I have plenty.. the pcie express uses only 4 lanes BUT I am definitely getting the newest board cpu and mem etc when Pascal arrives.

Those much higher speeds are likely because of Samsung Magician software (rapid mode, over provisioning etc.), and you must still have that set to that drive - Magician will only work on ONE drive, not any secondary drives.

I don't think the benchmark on Samsung Magician is working properly with the 950 Pro.

    Ok guys THIS IS WEIRD!

Samsung has some serious explaining to do..........      I confirmed the numbers are correct for BOTH Drives.

So now the mystery is not only that the 950 pro isn't doing what it is supposed to but that the 850PRO IS GETTING 950 PRO NUMBERS!

So why buy the 950 pro if a simple software upgrade makes the 850 pro perform like one?

So you know I ran tests with the 850 disconnected and vice versa.

    Here are the numbers.

I think you turned on RAPID mode on the 850 PRO when you run the test, and the reason why 950 PRO exist is so you do not have to use the RAM (I think?) to get that level of performance.

That said, your Read / Write speed are far lower than mine, can a rep please clarify what bandwidth is the Z97 classified M.2 Slot running off?

Just did a quick google search.
Apparently Z97 M.2 only supports up to 1GB/s so that might explain your benchmark.

    My motherboard is a X99 Micro 2, and it runs off PCI-e Gen3 4x.

Unfortunately I do not have a M.2  I had to use a Pcie m.2 adapter   It does use pcie 3.0 4x but I will look at the limits.

I thought there was an M.2 there, but's it's a an unusual key.
