Hi folks. I'm kind of stuck atm. I can get different oces np. As high as 4.9 @ 1.507 on my 5960 with the x99 classy.

My issue seems to be when setting an overclock and then trying it on 3DMark. Whether 3DM 11 or 3DM it seems to get kicked out of the bench at the physx portion of the bench. Most times it will run until the end and then suddenly kick out.

I'm not too sure which setting to adjust at this point.    http://valid.canardpc.com/32kbkf

Edit: I forgot to mention that i separated the cpu and gpu into their own loops. 4.9 @ 1.507 with an idle temp of 21 C.

Not too shabby imho. I'm trying to get lower voltages on my oces and I'm working @ 4.5 Ghz. I can get it @ 1.261 but cannot run benches bcuz of physx until 1.286. Only then it won't kick out.

What is a good setting for the vsa? Tried a number of adjustments on different things, simply haven't found the missing adjustment/setting yet. Wasn't sure where the vsa average might be.

Re: EVGA X99 Quick Overclocking Guide! 2015/07/25 23:29:27 (permalink)
hey guys on the stock 1.12 BIOS I was able to get a stable 4.5Ghz with XMP profile enabled and everything else was on auto... Then I updated to 1.18 and it was all down hill from there. I couldn't get it to do much of anything above 4Ghz on 1.18 so I switched to BIOS slot 2 and went back to v1.12... but still having the same issues.

Really weird how I'm not able to get back to 4.5Ghz!

Specs:

CPU: Intel i7 5960X
MBD: EVGA X99 Classified
RAM: 4 x 4Gb Corsair Vengeance
HD: OCZ RevoDrive 240GB
GPU: 2 x EVGA 980 Ti in SLI
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 1300W G2

Really strange how I can't get back to the 4.5Ghz stable clock I got earlier... Just did a clean install of the OS to see if that helps stability. The really frustrating part is that after I set the previously stable settings, it gets stuck on POST... with A2 on the debug LCD. When this happens I have to clear CMOS and start over... ugh any ideas?

Re: EVGA X99 Quick Overclocking Guide! 2015/07/26 00:37:30 (permalink)
That something happen, I never had such problem because I keep always on 200-300MHz less than max stable clock.
Because of that I didn't had single problem connected with memory or 4.5GHz overclocked i7-3770K for 3 years.
I have feeling that 4.5GHz is 3.5GHz(default clock), only need 1200V instead 1150V...
But because I run benchmark and stability tests on 4.8GHz and everything pass maybe I would have same problem as you, but I drop clock for 300MHz.
My processor work same up to 4.6GHz, that mean he can work on same settings as now and on 4.6GHz, after that lot voltage increase, not lot but 1275mV for 4.8GHz... after that need same amount of voltage or even more for +200MHz but I can't keep temps in normal range above 4.8GHz.
I can for AIDA64 testing and similar, but not for real tests as Prime95.

Seems like bumping up the voltage to 1.355 helped me stay solid at 4.5Ghz for now with XMP enabled... now if i could only get windows 7 reinstalled without it blue screening lol

Pay attention on temps.
Did you check max temps with 1355V?
You know that's huge success 4.5GHz with i7-5960X.
You overclock 8 cores 1.5GHz, or 1 GHz if you look Turbo Core.
That's amazing really, I would keep on 4.-4.2GHz...
Looks like X99 Classified is nice for overclocking CPU, same as Z77 FTW.

yea temps never got above 65C if I remember correctly. This was using windows 10 and doing a bunch of benchmarks (3dmark, AIDA etc) so I'm going back to windows 7 as Win10 isn't ready for primetime yet unfortunately.

This thing flies at 4.5Ghz but yea for the additional stability I'll probably keep it under that. I did have it running at 4.7Ghz for a while on my H100i but I don't know enough about what voltages need to be tweaked to really make it stable above 4.5Ghz.

You should put him under water. Really. It's nice processor and worth.
How big is your case? Mid tower or Full Tower. If you have space for 2x 240mm radiators you need to think easy on custom loop.
EKWB make some very simple and fast solutions.

Its the corsair 800D. Not really looking to spend more money on this thing hahah I think the H100i does a good enough job for now.

That's nice case, special I like people who make modification on side panel for cubic window.
For me is nicer than 900D. Special interior of 800D, one of most popular PC case ever and long time is atractive.

Re: EVGA X99 Quick Overclocking Guide! 2015/08/28 06:04:01 (permalink)
With other boards situation is not much better. People constantly complain on Rampage 5 Extreme.
I had pure suffering first days to force board to OC CPU at all. I had constantly BSOD when I change setting for overclocking with few other people with completely and absolutely identical situation as mine. Many users back Rampage 5 Extreme because many bugs... I advice you only to take look on Newegg and compare user experience for example some EVGA PSU 1000 P2, 1200 P2, 750 G2, EVGA GTX980Ti, TITAN X and on other side Rampage 5 Extreme... You will see what mean nice products and what mean buggy product. From one difference here you will get fast respond and many advice and with other manufacturer you need to pull with nippers every answer from their mouth.
And I still don't know is it my mobo OK, I set everything just like I want... but off course I will try when summer pass to OC CPU more...
I only know that memory both kits are OK... CPU is very rear fault... and that sold me guy who work in ASUS Serbia...
Some manager for Balkan or I don't know... If sold me fault processor I will kill him instantly
And if you think that only is Classy make problem you are wrong... and same situation is on every forum... X99 have more problems than X79.
Some people are happy because they change on MSI, some because change on ASUS, some with GIGABYTE, it's always like that.
OK In my case X99 and 5820K now work as I want, but all of us want to everything work, it's not point to set some settings and than to scare to change.
But when you have problem on one side than you have experience that with others situation is perfect, but not and with different brands/models people similar as you have own problems and think same for you.

Hi,
I just need a little clarification on adaptive voltage and offset.
I'm using 1.1V adaptive with a 200mv offset.
Getting 4.6 stable and 1.26 volts under load. Temps are maxing out at 68 and 35 at idle.

I guess it's still got loads of headroom! So I'm wondering if I'm on the right track with the offset.
Should I leave the 1.1 adaptive and bump up offset or leave the offset at 200 and raise the 1.1...

I have the micro 2 and 5690 btw.
Really liking it!
My last kit was an X58 UD3 with a Xeon X5690.
Fried it so I really want to avoid that this time.

Currently X58a UD3, x5690, Ga R9 290oc, corsair HX1000i, custom loop EK bits, 12gb.
Trying to get going EVGA Micro2, i7 5960x, 16g HyperX fury 2666 DDR4

First time EVGA user so Eleet is new to me, but have used it to test overclock, then back to BIOS to dial in for permanent use. It's a nice simple interface, only issue is that it only shows Vcore on the CPU tab, only the offset/adaptive adjustment on voltage tab.

Re: EVGA X99 Quick Overclocking Guide! 2016/05/16 14:58:31 (permalink)
I am not by any means an experienced overclock-er but I have finally got my board pretty stable, 4.66 on the 5930k and 2667 on the Corsair Dominator platinum ram. The Processor OC went pretty easy but I have pulled my hair out on the memory oc. Couldn't get the xmp profiles to work at all, finally got it to work just entering the timings, voltage and freq's manually on stock 100 blk clock.

Thats damn sweet, my 5820K gets pretty toast at 1.075v @ 4.0ghz
I can push it to 4.3 at 1.2 ish volts but temps are on the verge of throttling. In less stressful benches i can push 4.6 and even 4.7 at 1.375v but h264 rendering with AVX2 support instantly overheats, throttles and sometimes even shuts down :(

Im on a full custom loop aswell, 240 + 360 rad. Seems i just have a really 'leaky' chip.

I'm on a custom loop as well 480mm + 240mm with a EK Block. Seems to keep it in check

Which EK block in particular? I'm running Acetal + Nickel supremacy Evo.

I swapped the jetplate and found a 10c drop but my temps are still hitting 70-75c, my room is 23-26 though.

Hmm, guess i just got unlucky with a toasty chip. I'd been using my block on my old Z97 board before i upgraded and forgot to change the parts across.

Was thinking of swapping to a X99 evo full nickel, i'll probably do that sometime down the line when i upgrade from my titan x and get a different block for that etc.
