Video Card: EVGA 750TI SC
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU make and model: Intel i3-3225
Amount of system memory: 8 GB
Motherboard make and model: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H (rev 1.1)
Motherboard BIOS version: F15
Monitor(s) make and model: TV - LG 60PM6700
Sound card make and model: HDMI

There seems to be a problem with these drivers as it relates to HDCP. My video card is plugged into my receiver (Yamaha RX-A800) via HDMI, which is then plugged into my TV ( LG - 60PM6700 ). Before purchasing the card, I had an ATI HD7790 Video Card which had no issues at all.

It seems the driver has an issue when there's an AV Receiver in the middle of the chain as when plugging the video card directly to the TV is displayed correctly in the Control Panel.

When I start up Media Center (eq. Full Screen) - it gives me an error saying "HDCP is required", when I minimize the application to "Windowed" mode, HDCP looks like it starts working and I'm able to watch TV. I am able to switch back to Full Screen mode without issues as long as I don't restart MCE.

If I start up Media Center in Windowed Mode, it gives me an error saying "HDCP is required", when I switch it "Full Screen" mode, HDCP looks like it starts working and able to watch TV. If the application is restarted, have to do the flip-flop before it starts working..

The same PC using an ATI card doesn't have any issues with HDCP, nor the PS4, and the Chromecast (which are all plugged into the AV Receiver). I replaced the HDMI cables with no effect.

I'm not the only one - not an EVGA specific issue but an NVIDIA Driver issue..   Can EVGA work with NVIDIA to get this fixed?   The 750TI is being sold as a good HTPC card, but doesn't really work well if HDCP is having issues - most of us who use it for HTPC will have it plugged into an AV receiver.

Same problem with Gigabyte GTX750Ti 2GB WF Black Edition OC, Yamaha RX-A2010 and Panasonic TX-P50VT30E.
Did you try the last hotfix?

    Hello,

I am sorry but our video output does not support use through a secondary display standard; in this case a receiver. To have the HDMI hdcp work correctly you will need to connect directly to the television from the video card. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with in regard to your EVGA products by contact support at or for further assistance.

    Thank you,
    EVGA

What kind of BS answer is this from EVGA?   So basically, this thing is being touted as an HTPC card but you can't use it with an AV Receiver and still have HDCP working?

I am not an expert, but from what I read on the Wiki it looks like your receiver needs to be HDCP compatible to be able to pass HDCP content. It's an anti-copying protection measure, and appears to be doing precisely what it was designed to do (deny A/V on non-compliant devices).

Yep, the receiver is HDCP compliant, it's why my Blue Ray Player,  PS4, Chromecast, and my old HD 7790 (before replacing it with the 750ti) that was plugged into it was able to play HD content just fine without issues.

Sounds like it's a driver reporting issue, as when I minimize the MCE window, then maximize it (or vise versa), the HD content starts playing.  If HDCP wasn't working, MCE won't display HD channels at all (regardless of me minimizing / maximizing the screen).

That video is private and unable to be viewed. Since you have evidence and everything is HDCP compliant, I would contact Nvidia and speak with them about it. They have a forum as well as a support line. They probably can't fix it for you right away, but hopefully they will look into it.

In the mean time, have you tried older drivers? I've heard that the 347.XXX drivers were the peak of 700 series compatibility (which is sad, but Nvidia's way - which is why I may switch camps for AMD's Fiji).

Thanks, made the Video public so it should now be viewable.    I posted it in the NVIDIA forums (no response from the mod's there so far) and another person with a similar setup (AV Receiver) has the same issue.

I'll see if the 347.XXX drivers work with the 750ti and try it..   AMD HD7790 works, Intel GPU (that comes with the CPU) also works with HDCP in my setup, only NVIDIA refuses to report HDCP correctly.

The receiver itself needs to be able to pass the HDCP token to the display and then back through to the PC in order for the link to be considered HDCP capable.

Have you tried a direct connection between the display and the PC? This would eliminate the receiver from the equation all together. If the issue only happens when going through the receiver, then the issue is narrowed to the receiver itself. At that point, you may want to contact the manufacturer of the receiver and see if they have a solution.

The Yamaha AV Receivers are Fully HDCP compliant, they even pass official testing at DCP

     http://www.digital-cp.com/hdcp_products/search

The NVIDIA drivers are having an issue detecting the RX-A800 as an HDMI Repeater (already has the latest firmware 2.05).  The AV Receiver has no problems doing HDCP with Intel GPU, AMD GPU, Chromecast, Sony Blue Ray Player, PS3, PS4, XBOX 360 (all of which I've used) with the receiver.

Only the NVIDIA card is having an issue.  My machine is my HTPC, so it's hooked up to my Receiver so I can play back DTS-HD MA (7.2), Dolby True-HD from HD content, and Dolby Digital from HDTV channels - plugging it into the TV directly gives me 2 CHANNEL PCM.

Most HTPC folks will be plugging it into an AV Receiver, and NVIDIA's HDCP detection in it's driver has a bug, or doesn't take into account standard consumer electronics.   Everyone else seems to be doing it correctly.

Hello, I just replaced my older AMD video card with brand new EVGA 750TI SC and I was pretty content until I tried to watch TV in Media Center. I get a message "channel not available". I had no such problem with AMD card. My computer is plugged into my receiver RX-A2010 Via HDMI  and then to Epson projector Cinema 5010.
The Nvidia Control Panel (HDCP Status) reports that "A repeater is connected to your system"
Did anyone ever found a solution to this problem?
    Thanks

My solution was to buy a cheap HDMI splitter from Amazon that ignores HDCP requests.
    This is definitely Nvidia bug.

With the latest drivers, still ain't fixed -368.39, it's not the hardware either.

Just received my GTX1070 (for VR and Project Cars) and it has the exact same problem.

The Radeon Fury Nano, Radeon 7790, Radeon 7950, and Intel IGP through HDMI don't have any problems handshaking HDCP correctly through the Yamaha receiver.
