Hello Guys

i am deciding to buy the intel 750 pcie ssd and i was wondering if i can get the full speeds of the ssd or not.you can find my pc specs below;

CPU : intel 3930k 40 Pci Lanes
mobo : Evga X79 Dark
GPU : Evga gtx 980 Ti Classified

as you know 3930k is not officially support the gen 3.0 but my mobo Evga X79 Dark has Pcie gen 3.0 slots .So what will happen if i place my intel 750 ssd into one of the pcie gen 3.0 slots?is it going to run in gen 3.0 standarts or gen 2.0 standarts?

i am a little bit confused about that.I mean , is the ssd going to work as gen 3.0 even if the cpu officialy doesnt support pcie 3.0 ? or is it just going to need x4 available pci lanes in CPU?

or is it just going to take attention the slot that it has been running in?

Kind Regards

    Yes, both the x79 Dark MOB and the 3930K processor support PCIe3.0

    Also, a review by newegg.com i7-3930k user ****  "My rig has 3 x Titans in SLI driving 7.2Mpixel surround gaming, and with 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes between them those GPUs aren't bandwidth constrained at all!  The latest multi-threaded aware games like Crysis 3 have not problem running on this CPU, while pushing 3 OC Titans on 95-99% utilization. I did the work around to get PCIE 3.0 to show in the bios. Did not make a difference in my benchmarks, seemed 1% slower on some benchmarks. That was with GPU's; Now on an SSD it should still perform the same but you really won't know until you try.

    That is me in the picture, anyone else ever pet a live Lion?
