Greetings, My first post here. I have Coolermaster Haf X case and planning to buy 980 Ti Hybrid card when in stock. Where can I Fit the radiator which seemed to be 120 ml diameter. The case has 2x200mm slots for fans, one at the back was preinstalled and the front slot has optional slot. Can I use the front slot for mounting the card radiator? Is the tubing going to be long enough? Will appreciate advice please. Regards

Hmmm..........wouldn't that cause a conflict to the air flow? The large intake fan and radiator fan blowing at each other getting hot and cold lol!

From what I gather, the fan would blow thru the cooler and into the case and not toward the front fan, correct? I've seen others mount them right on the HDD cage. That's where I'd mount mine if I am ever lucky enough to get one.

That's the case I have :) I plan on getting a 980Ti Hybrid also, I am going to mount it on the rear output port. It has a 140MM fan in the back of the case, but if you look it has holes so you can put in a 120mm one there which will fit the radiator. The nice thing is you might be able to mount the now current 140mm internal fan to the outside of the case so you can do a push pull like configuration.

Thank you for your reply....do we want hot air blowing in the case? or you think the front intake fan will dissipate it?

With the current 980s and ACX fans they blow into the case and my temps with the stock fan setting is only 73* playing BF and 59-64* @ 45% fan speed. That big ole case will have no issues moving the air. Note: my fans are set up for positive flow - 5 in, 2 out.

That'll definitely work, too. however, for my setup, I would not want to upset my current fan configuration (i.e. remove the 140mm exhaust fan) since my current set up has been working fine exceptionally well at keeping the unit temps under control. Also, I wouldn't want any of my fans on the outside of the case - an aesthetic thing for me, but it's definitely an option - not sure it would work without modification though. Also, I have the push, pull fan on my CPU cooler and not sure that fan and radiator would clear the CPU fan (really can't tell unless I had unit in hand though).

How about the top front "optional fan" slot? It is 200ml slot, can you fit 120ml radiator there? will the tubing be long enough? I appreciate all the chatter here and learning a lot.

See the photo I linked above in #7 and you will see that the owner has the CPU fan mounted up top and I think it's a 120mm, but I can't tell you if the hoses are long enough to reach there. Edit: disregard. I just blew past the fact that he has them mounted to the radiator.

I have the HAF 932 also and am planning to upgrade to two 980 TI Hybrids. I've been thinking about where im going to mount the radiator and fan. I have the CPU radiator and fans on the top.

I have a H100 on the top 2 of my HAF X in a push pull config. It works well. After looking at the back of the HAF X, I can see setting it up to push will be easy for the back fan output, but to remount the internal 140mm fan outside would require some kind of standoff cause the fan would rub up against the grill. Well I guess it's still a theory since I can't find any 980Ti Hybrids in stock. :(

Wondering if anyone had more feedback on mounting the 980ti Hybrid to the HAF X? I have a big ZALMAN fan on the CPU from when I bought it that might make it hard to place on the rear outlet and was thinking of the HDD cage itself but looks like a tight fit . Tube length is 15 inches so routing to the top might be difficult as well. I have another 780 ACX in there now and ordered the hybrid to replace a 580.

I just installed a 980ti Hybrid in my HAF X case. I installed the Hybrid radiator on the top rear inboard portion of the case. I am using a Corsair H105 cooler for my CPU mounted on the top inboard of the HAF X. I had to put the tubing for the H105 radiator to the front of the case so that it would not interfere with the tubing from the Hybrid radiator.

Thanks for the reply ... so you took out the big fan that was drawing air out of the case and replaced it with the Hybrid radiator ... also pushing air out? Edit ... just saw you mentioned "top" so not the one in the rear ... the one on the top that draws air in ... good to know the tubes reached!

It is on the rear of the case but at the top portion. Here is a picture. I replaced the stock fan on the radiator with a Aerocool Dead Silence fan.

The only question now is where do I mount a second Hybrid radiator when I decide to go SLI and add another 980 TI Hybrid.

Pictures worth a thousand words. Thanks! I had been thinking the other alternative (if CPU Cooler becomes an issue) is the bottom front fan ... I do not have any drives in the bottom two slots and might be space there ... could be an option for second radiator if yours is open as well. Would still need to draw air in but heard a lot of people saying this is fine. Found bcavnaugh's setup here informative: I'll look into the Aerocool fan as well ... assuming you used a 120mm to match radiator (vs 140mm to match existing fan)

astrebel83 Why not mount it into those hot swap bays, with zip ties or something, that are useless (at least for me). I am thinking either that or the HDD cage for my Titan hybrid cooling kit, which is about the same, if not exactly the same, as the 980TI radiator. I think it makes sense that the radiator gets cold air so I want it to pull from outside in.
That is what I did ......

I used a 120 fan to connect to the hybrid radiator the 140 was too large. I currently have all but one hard drive being used so mounting the second radiator might not be an option however I could remove all but 2 hard drives. My concern with using the front space in front of the hard drives, will there be mounting tabs to secure the radiator.

Was in the middle of a huge project and couldn't risk swapping in the hybrid till now :) Yep, Astrabel83, went with the hot swap bays ... evga highly recommended putting the radiator level or above the card for noise and performance ... and the bays were perfect. The radiator hoses do not quite reach the front but doesn't seem like an issue. It is drawing air in. Both of my top fans are taken ... both exhaust ... which should draw the warm air out the top easily. FYI, I had all kinds of zip ties and other gadgets to secure it but left the hot swap bays in there ... wedged some "gaskets" above and below the radiator and it's solid (found the gaskets at Lowes ... they go into electrical outlet boxes ... thin black foam like these Did have a little problem with the side fan shroud being blocked by the hoses but got them pushed above it ... might just cut away some of the shroud so it's not wedged in there. Hope that helps someone out there!

Hey Digitaloven, I took the bays out. I did not like the angle on the tubes coming out. Seems a bit tight in your rig. I affixed the cooler first with zip ties but then I was replacing the fan and did not feel the need to redo it. So it is loose in there, which actually is just fine. I took the side shroud out when I was building it. The CPU cooler wouldn't fit otherwise. My only concern is that it is blowing the warm/hot air into my CPU cooler. However, the CPU and GPU do not go above 60 and 50 respectively (both under 100% load at the same time and overclocked). Thinking about replacing the CPU cooler with a corsair water cooler as well. My rig is so quiet now, I have to check if it is on now and then
