Forum,

It has been a while since I have browsed these forums, but it still feels like home.
To breathe some more life into my rig before retiring it next year I picked up another CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9 kit for 24GB.  With the help of another thread here, I also modded my Rev1 board to accept a X5660 hex core.

The system posts without issue at 1066 and 1333 frequencies with 24GB installed. But Windows 10 Pro doesn't boot unfortunately with instant BSOD.

The system works fine using 12gb with either kit.
Could someone help with the BIOS settings for running 24gb?
So far I am running everything stock (2.8ghz cpu + 1066mhz memory), it gets to the windows boot screen doesn't even make it a full circle, and BSOD.  I pulled the sticks out of slots 5 and 6 to run dual channel 16gb, same issue.

I want to point out this is not a "my system has 24gb installed but only XXgb is usable" thread.  I have never had an issue with the BIOS not registering all of my memory, unless I mess with the TWL and TRL settings.
My goal is the run the memory at 1333mhz, but if I am forced to stick to 1066, so be it.  I assumed if there were compatibility issues, the motherboard wouldn't post?

Thanks in advance,

Cc_

Update: Downloaded an Ubuntu live disc, booted into Ubuntu just fine with all 24gb ram installed.

Running memtest currently, 25% through the first pass, with 0 errors.

I am running out of ideas when it comes to Windows..

Hope this helps. Have you tried the "Run" with msconfig in the "Boot" tab you'll find advanced options where you can set how many processors are running and the amount of memory. Try unchecking the box of the maximum memory used! Good luck.
PS: As well, enable the XMP profile and that will configure the other memory settings for you. Once the memory is set properly in BIOS and WINDOWS, everything should operate just fine.
