I bought a card earlier today for my system the EVGA GeForce 970 GTX ACX 2.0 Cooler. How ever It mad a noise as if something was hitting the fan internally, believe its a wire under the fan. I usually don't spend this much, but it came highly recommend for the gpu chipset aswell as the engineering and customer service provided with EVGA. Moving on.... IS THIS CARD REALLY THIS LOUD? I would to hear testimonial or cons people have had or any insight. I'm going to return the card tomorrow for another in hopes it just a faulty card.

Thank you in advance

Hi & Welcome to the forum...

It sounds like there may be something loose under the shroud.  Since you just bought it, I would take it back for an exchange.  These cards are not loud at all.

Mine is perfectly quiet.  I would definitely exchange it.  You'll love the performance once you get one that is quiet.

Mine is doing this at about 1100 rpm, When I put my finger on the side of the card it stops, So something inside is rubbing the fan when the air is pulled at a certain speed. I am not sure if it's still under warranty. I bought it back in early to mid May of this year. So I have had about six months now.

if it six 6 months old then you do realize you have a three year transferable warranty so you have about 2 yrs and 4 months left of warranty.

Unless it was a BStock then you have 6 months left.

Good to know about the warranty. But I thought it would be a limited warranty after a certain period of time. Anyway I used a flashlight and could see the wire, So I just moved the wire back, It's fine now. I did not even have to take it out of the case. I just moved the wire with the end of a pen. Back to running as quiet a ever. Oh and happy holidays and such.
