Hello

I lost my mind earlier, and all sympathy for my wallet when purchasing a 5930k with X99 mobo and DDR4, but for some reason forgot to factor in my PSU. Will my current Supernova 850G2 be sufficient to power this and a pair of 780 SC's? I was hoping to run a small overclock on the 5930k but I know they can use a whole bunch of juice.

Any advice would be great, this is my very first really enthusiastic build and I want to make sure I get the best quality bits I can whilst really trying to stick to a modest budget.

Cheers

    Yup, it'll power it without any problems. I've run my 850 B2 in my main rig with a pair of oc'ed 780 Ti's and an X5670 (6C/12T) @ 4.2GHz.

    The Banshee: Ryzen 5 5600 @ 4.65GHz 1.25V, CPU + 2X GPU Custom loop w/ 360mm & 240mm rads, Asrock X370 Taichi, 2X GTX 780 Ti SLI, EVGA 1300 G2, WD Blue 1TB (main storage), Corsair Force LS 120GB (OS Drive), Fractal Design Arc XL, 2X8GB G.skill Trident Z @ 3200 C14

Ok thanks, I'll give it a go then as my parts arrived this afternoon.

If I have worked it out correctly the 780s should use something like 500W, 5930k 140W (stock) and then I have like 200W left to play with for my water pump, HDD + SSD and a few fans.

lol I was looking, but one of my 780s died (again), apparently my advanced RMA from the last time was still open so I can either replace it or get my 350 Euro deposit back. If I get a 980Ti I could just keep the 850G2 and my CPU overclock with some headroom + similar performance.

You could get the 1300 G2 for less money.      ;)

For Intel 6 core and two premium graphics with more than 230-240W power consumption 1KW PSU is recommended.
Overclocked system will need maybe and 25-30% more power than same hardware or default speed.

Yeah this is what got me worried, if they are still going to honor this advanced RMA (even though it should have been closed in March, but wasn't) I will sell the other 780 and pick up a couple of 980Ti I think and at least a 1KW PSU, probably from EVGA again now they are showing us Brits some love customer service/RMA wise.

Are these still Leadex platform by Superflower? This 850 is probably the best PSU I've ever had so far for the price.
