This car also does not come standard with the coolers necessary for running it on the track, those options alone put the car over $50,000...  Do that do they with the GT350R as well?
 
In the end, you're going to do what makes you happiest and nobody in stable mindset will tell you not to do what makes you happy...
 
I guess I just don't understand the part where you also bring up the options of other cars at the same value, or even cheaper, that are not only better built, but more suited for daily use and overall faster...  and then get mad and accuse people of being "Koolaid Drinkers," for saying that those other cars make more sense than walking out of a dealership paying $80,000 for a $40,000 car.

We haven't gotten ours at the dealership yet. The VIN number was issued 3 or 4 weeks ago but it still hasn't made it here. The next dealership over has theirs. I had heard from some people that they did a stop shipment on them to fix a problem, but never heard what the problem was.

Well... Semi sad day for my wife and I today. Our GT-350 is here........... With a $15k markup. Not mad, but they can let another sucker pay for that.
 
Yes, it is the second cheapest on the lot in the entire State. Every dealer is doing their best to make a few$$. I have no problem with that. More power to them.
 
And my goodness, what an awesome car!
 
But all is well. We switched our $$ and placed an order today for a 2016 GT Premium with every bell an whistle Ford offers at this time. And they happened to be nice enough to charge me $99 over invoice. Pretty much the same as those with the X-plan pricing...

I pretty much figured that would happen.    Seeing 15 to 20k dealer markups here as well.   Like you said, let some other sucker pay the premium.   
 
Why not wait till all the hubbub dies down in a year or so and then locate a dealer willing to sell without playing games?   Besides, do you really want the first year of a new car?  Wait till they work all the bugs out.  
 
And it sounds like your dealer is more than happy to jerk you around.   Admittedly, I think almost all car salesmen and dealerships have questionable integrity.

Ehh, well at least now you will not be paying double the msrp...  now you're only paying $50,000 for a regular Mustang.
