When I have EVGA Precision X16 on in Windows 10 and hold the cursor on the desktop for example the blue circle(that indicates that something is loading or whatever) keeps blinking. Frustrating. I am sure it is this program as when I shut it down it stops. I have only done a custom fan curve, nothing else. Is this some kind of indication of something or a bug?

ive had this happen just now seems to be the LCD/OSD/monitoring side of it to test i changed the timer of the custom fan profile to 500ms and the monitoring to 5000ms and the speed at witch the busy cursor happened is closer to that of the monitoring feature

I've got this issue too... one reason I didn't update to the latest versions of Precision X. If I close Precision X, the problem goes away.
Windows 10 Home x64 AMD FX-8320 8-core 3.5GHz 8GB RAM DDR3-1600 1 x 240 SSD, 1 x 60GB SSD and 1 x 1TB HDD EVGA GTX 960 SC 2GB

I'll make a separate thread regarding my (lack of) start with Windows issues, but I notice that if I start Win 10 and Precision X has not started, and I wait for a good while before starting it, that there is continued disk access by the Precision software, and it shows using ~10 MB/s disk activity constantly (in Task manager), which translates to a fractional pause when doing anything - reading a webpage, scrolling a document, playing a game, etc. If I manage to turn on PrecisionX immediately after boot, I don't seem to get this issue. Not sure if this helps the diagnosis, but I'm also willing to help test anything towards solving this issue. In addition to the specs below, I'm running Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14295. This is a clean OS install build, so everything was installed freshly on here, within the last 2 weeks. PrecisionX version 5.3.10.

Restarting the computer (due to a thunderstorm) fixed the issue, don't have the blinking cursor anymore...

I'm having this problem and it's very annoying. Restarting my computer doesn't help to resolve this issue.

Same issue. Restarts will fix the cursor, but it always seems to come back. Would love to see an update on this. I do a format once every couple of months and the issue will always come back at some point. When I format, I install everything fresh. Edit - Running ----> Windows 10 Home i7 4970k Single GTX 970

It's the polling rate updating very frequently. Upped mine to 10000ms. no more flicker. Andy302 said it here first! 3b

On my Windows Computers 7 and 10 I run EVGA Precision X16 Select the Profiles I want to use then I exit EVGA Precision X16.

Precision X has to be running for your profiles to be applied.
