I can get a solid number on how much the card draws. I put one up for a contest prize and to make sure it's still working. I'll check it at idle and folding load.

Thanks! That'd be awesome info to get as well. :)

Thank you guys for the tips. It's incredible to be getting the points that I should be receiving haha. Finally feels like I'm making a slight contribution now as well. I'll look into getting that splitter, hopefully it works out for my graphics card!

You're moving on up for sure. You passed 2,389 other folders in just the last 24 hours. Yahoo!

Woohoo! :D Now I can really get my ~50k ppd estimate haha.

I found the splitter for cheaper on Amazon and I'll be able to put my Prime to use. :) ()
That means I should be able to use my GTX 560 by this weekend if I'm not too busy with exams!

I have the 'Hover Hound' addon in my Firefox browser so I can compare prices at several places at once just by going to NewEgg first. Once you get bit by the 'Folding Bug' you're in it for good! There's no going back from here. You'll see. You'll always want a bigger and better video board or a better CPU just to put up more and more points. That's a good thing though. Welcome to 'The Fold' as we call it.

Thanks! I already want a bigger and better video board / CPU, I just don't have the funds to spare on one as a student paying for overpriced education. :( Any little bits of EVGA bucks I can earn while folding will be a nice bonus to helping out in research and allow me to put some funds into upgrades eventually. It's strangely satisfying collecting these "credits" by folding hahaha. I think I'm already being gnawed on by the 'Folding Bug'.

Okay, installed in a Z77 board with an 15-2500k and a TX650 ps. At idle the sys uses about 100 watts and folding a Core18 unit, it uses 280 watts. No folding on cpu. That's 180 watts used. My card is the EVGA FPB 1561-AR
26+k ppd on this one.

Thanks!! It seems like it's more worth it to continue folding on my CPU, but I've been wanting to use the GTX 560 Ti over the Quadro 2000 for some time now. I'm looking forward to switching. :)

Your CPU is doing a good job with its Folding chores. Now you need to add a banner in your profile signature so we can watch your progress. We take an interest in our fellow Folders. Here is a link to a 'sticky' that will show you how to set it up: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=17992

Haha now I'm going to feel pressure to do well! :P I'll try my best guys. I probably can't put this much pressure on my CPU too often as the desktop isn't all that well ventilated.

Set up the signature though. :)

Good job on adding the Folding banner to your signature. Now you can't sneak up on us any more. LOL As far as ventilation goes, this is what I need to do and my video boards are watercooled:

Oh my gosh that's perfect hahahaha. My main concern is just accumulation of an excess of dust or damage to the system, since my last computer (or at least the motherboard) actually died when all I was doing was using compressed air to get rid of excess dust inside the computer.

I managed to install the GTX 560 today! :) So far the PCI-E power splitter cable is working. I'm going to let it settle in for a bit before I try folding on it.

Turns out it was an EVGA GTX 560, not 560 Ti unfortunately. Probably just wishful thinking haha.

Thanks! Hopefully I'll be able to fold about this amount every month, it'll be harder when I'm separated from my desktop during school breaks this month and next haha.
