Gossip?...well, I did find this which dates about 4 days ago and sounds pretty good:
     http://www.gamespot.com/a...evs-help/1100-6430602/

Fallout 4 Gun Gameplay Built With Doom Dev's Help
Id Software assisted Bethesda on firearms combat.

Doom and Rage developer Id Software is said to have helped Bethesda to improve gunplay for its upcoming open-world RPG Fallout 4.

In a video recorded at E3 2015, but only recently published, game director Todd Howard discussed the evolution of the game's shooting.

"If you were to pick it up and play [Fallout 4], it does feel like a modern shooter," he said. "I won't say anything bad about Fallout 3, but we wanted to not make any excuses for how the action felt in a role-playing game. We feel we can layer all of the role-playing and stat systems on top of that.
"So the guns feel great. We have aim down sights, you can play in first and third-person, and then we have the V.A.T.S system."

Continuing, Howard said Id Software were called in from an early stage to help build the shooting.
"Since id Software is part of our company, the first thing we did was call them. [We said] 'alright, we're going to do this from scratch, give us some tips.'"

Watch the full interview with Howard below.

    I can't either.

Are you prepared to get lost/immersed in Fallout 4? Rumor is that there will be at least 400 hours of game play. And there will be NO level cap! Also, they are saying that the game will not end after completion.

OOO no level cap and game doesn't end, sounds absolutely perfect to me, as I firmly believe that you can never peak at anything, you can always learn something new, now a game/RPG will reflect that.  WOOHOO!  Most ES games I went and found stat cap removers for, so I could keep improving.

That's what I read and I am totally up for that.

I did a search for the total (guestimation) hours for Skyrim and they said 20 to 30 hours for the main quest but a total of 300 hours for the entire game. Fallout 4 is being reported as having 400 plus hours with the main quest. With that being said, I think that most members will be absent from the forums for a while unless they do just the main quest.

Well, that's great, but, darnit I don't have that kinda time anymore   Sounds like WAY too much fun.  Can't wait, I guess this could become my next Cybermancy (oh good Lord, I don't need ANOTHER game like that) where I have 140 hours in and pick it up when I have 3 hours to kill.

If my wife ever goes out of town, I will pull an all nighter on this and then call in sick for work the next day.  That's almost exactly what I did with New Vegas. I hope they have multiple ways to complete quests and multiple endings and story lines. That to me is what made it so much fun and non linear.

Agreed, that really does help, I love different ways to win and play, as it doesn't shoehorn everyone into the same play style and goals.

    Dave,
There may have been a little confusion. That 400+ was for the entire game and not just the main part of it. I couldn't find any info regarding the main quest by it self.

The way I play, snooping in everything, I'll have well over 1000 hours into it.

400 hours sounds great but I am a little worried that most quests will be very repetitive because of the small download size of game. Unless new areas will have terrible graphic quality. I hope I am wrong I love the series.

To my understanding the DLC has NOT been released for the PC platform. Microsoft's console has it but nothing else..... yet.

Ahh, ok.  I was thinking that for the main game.  OK, that sounds more doable.  But if it is like anything else from Bethesda since Morrowind came out, it will be open to all sorts of mods that could drive the time up exponentially.....  I am glad I didn't have steam for Morrowind, I don't think I would have wanted to see how many hours were played on it.....

Even if it is not out yet, I think there is an implication that it will be on PC because you can already preorder the Season Pass on Steam which is usually there to cover DLC's.

Damn the social life, there are far more important things to do. Forget work, that's what sick days are for. You won't be missed, but then neither will the rest of your friends because they will be doing what you will be doing. LOL

Thank you sir for the update!!!!
I went to Steam and sure enough the DLC was displayed. I was looking there a few days ago and it wasn't listed. New Egg did have it listed a few weeks ago.
Oh, I'm good with the DLC now too.

    Bring it on Bethesda!!

I hope they have multiple ways to complete quests and multiple endings and story lines. That to me is what made it so much fun and non linear.

Agreed, that really does help, I love different ways to win and play, as it doesn't shoehorn everyone into the same play style and goals.

    Is this what you want?

    Found this to be interesting:

"For starters, the amount of fresh content contained within the newest addition to the Fallout franchise is absolutely ridiculous. Players are said to have the entire map of Boston at their fingertips for a truly sandbox-type experience. Can you say 400+ hours of reported gameplay in an entirely free-roaming world? I know, mind-numbing, but I digress. Not only can players essentially do what they want or interact with any aspect of the game that they choose, but their actions also have tangible consequences and will directly affect the overall gaming experiencing. This is intriguing and substantially makes one player’s gameplay experience entirely different from that of their friends. This creates an endless amount of outcome possibilities. Feel like beating the tar out that guy you just stumbled upon in an alleyway, or maybe you’d rather just talk with him and see what he’s all about? Fallout 4 will oblige and let you choose the proper course of action, even if it’s the morally wrong one."
