I'm just getting into World of Tanks though I was given an invite code but didn't realize it until after I had created an account so I'm going to be making a new account since I only have I think 7 battles on my other one lol.

I'm really wanting to see who all on here plays WoT so maybe I can find people to game with and help me get better at it because I royally suck.

Patience, did your invite code give you any gold, premium time and or a low tier premium tank?

There are invite codes with goodies posted often at alienware arena.

or on this blog which is updated daily, codes are region specific, you are looking for a NA region code if you live in north or south america

I tend to binge on WoT for a month or two, then take a month or two off. It's a fun game, but it can get frustrating. It's not a game you start off good at, so be patient.

Stick with the lower tier tanks first and max them out, along with getting the crew to 100%. Once you start doing well, then move up. I rushed the tiers too fast, and got beat up in tier 5 and 6. I'm up to a Tier 9 Leopard PTA now and a couple other tier 8s, but I still have some of the most fun in tier 4 and 5 tanks.

Also learn the maps and the weak point on common tanks you see, and you'll do a lot better. Don't Leroy Jenkins either, stick back in cover and pick off those who expose themselves. Until you get really good and get the right tanks for it, rushing just gets you killed.

I play a few games a week but it does get frustrating. The best advice I can give ya is beware that weekends bring out all the idiots, the newbs, the weekend warriors, hackers etc.... which will infuriate you and ruin the game for ya. So if you can stick to the weekdays. The other one is if you care about your ranking at all the best time to put a lot of games in is the first couple days after a WG patch when all the hacker mods aren't patched yet and everyone playing is on even ground, so it's actually more about skill. The battles are way better then and not so continually lopsided everytime. I won't hack on multiplayer games so after those couple days and the hacks come back you can tell and will get sick of it. I use to have the xvm mods but I found that they aren't very accurate and just a waste, but some people can't live without it. Hopefully those tips will help ya out man and don't be a hacker! Keep your integrity. My toon is Massdeth on there too.

you might also give Armored Warfare a look/try as well before you invest a lot of time into WoT

If you are undecided which nation of tanks to play, go Russian at tier 10 they are the staples of clan wars, give your crews time to age and skill up from tier 5 and onward. Only buy garage slots when they are 50% on sale (every few months).

With me it was just that war thunder is more realistic, although not perfect. I really enjoy the realistic battles and how you can fly in those battles, or use tanks, in the same match. Soon ships will be added. Not a fan of arcade mode though.

I am considering War Thunder,I took a 2 year break from WOT's and since coming back much has changed. For one thing I am constantly in servers with Latinos that don't speak any English and in the heat of battle trying to communicate is a total disaster and therefor a ton of losses with only a couple people that speak English. The dynamics have changed, you can be dead on your target and shells magically go thru them or dead on using your arty, the recticle/sights are as small as they can go and you splash 15 to 20 meters from target......things have changed for sure and not for the good. What are the good points of War Thunder?

War thunder doesn't use lame health bar systems for tanks. If your tank deflects shells (all real time physics calculations) then it just bounces. You have to actually kill all the crew down to 1 man left (2 can still operate the tank but reloads take forever etc) or ignite the ammo for a boom. Different ammo types do different things as well. Graphics are WAY better as well. Also there is many ways to play. Arcade battles, realistic battles, and historical battles. Arcade is basically WOT, realistic has no in game helpers to point out enemy tanks or trajectories of your shots, and historical is even more realistic, as third person is disabled, planes have to start on the ground and take off, etc.

I will definitely look into WT,sounds good to actually have physics involved with angle/trajectory/armor width etc.Btw,love your avatar, the Tiger is one of my all time favs...have about five of them built in 1/35 scale and an Otto Carius that is halfway done.Erwin Rommel is of course the most popular but I have numerous books on Michael Wittman and built a Tiger to his specs. When I first started playing WOT I was so excited to get the Tiger.....in reality she was a beast,in WOT.....not so much.

I was a beta tester for WoT and I have been playing off and on since 2010 .. the game has been going down hill for awhile now since they allowed mods and added the gold rounds as it took a lot of the armor and skill away and releasing TD's with one shot killing power and armor better then the Maus..so I have moved over to AW .. but you can add me if you want as my in game name is CrazyCrave

If you started with the Beta,I bet you pull your hair out now.So many things have gone in the toilet, was just in a battle and only two of us spoke English. There was no communication whatsoever,I am now a minority in WOT's.

When I first started playing WOT I was so excited to get the Tiger.....in reality she was a beast,in WOT.....not so much.

yeah i am a fan of ww2 German tanks. I got to fire a flak 36/88 a few years ago at a D-Day reenactment in Ohio, and that was the coolest thing i ever did ! Apparently there is only one that can still fire in the US. If you like ww2 games, and don't mind table top games, check out Bolt Action, or Flames of War. Lots of great ways to get to be able to make tank models, paint them etc, and then play great games with boards full of tanks !

World of Tanks has always been a free to play game. I have been playing since the beta days. I play War thunder every once in while also.

Ive racked up about 13,000 battles on WoT over the last 3 years or so it is an addictive and fustrating game at the same time! I havent spent a single dollar on it so I dont get the rage so often seen from some players haha.
I made myself a rule not long after I starting playing I was gonna play every tank in the game up to tier6 before I bought any teir6 or higher tanks. This ended up taking a long time but now i have acheived that goal I have advanced up a couple of lines to teir 7. An interesting side effect of this method is I accumilated lots of credits as I wasnt purchasing the high teir tanks that cost millions of credits. So now Im sitting on about 60 million credits and every teir6 is researched.

Im more a face to face battler prefering heavy tanks, I try sitting in cover playing it safe then I get bored and end up joining the melee, my survival rate is low but im having fun!! :D

I have been playing all 3 but watch AW they gave me early access then changed the stats so you have to have SP1 with Win 7 or the game wont start.  They seem to be headed the same way of WOT with the buying your way up,  just my opinion though.  War Thunder much more realistic and you can fly,  so better for me.  Played the WOT test server last night and everyone was speaking  Russian  worse than all Spanish,  but I'm from CA so Spanish not too bad you just seem to pick it up here since so much of the state is Spanish speaking. I just got to tier 8 Russian TDs and suck at 42% so I catch a lot of crap.  My ingame is 1madmouse
