If you decide to go with Mini ITX than OK.
One thing is not logic, this board with smaller size and less material cost more than Maximus VIII Gene and for me that's best Z170 option on market. Or Hero, really no reason investing in Extreme for chipset and they update on new for 10 months. Such price are always best to keep if build Xtreme Intel.
ASUS give almost everything on this motherboard as on Maximus VIII Gene, Mini ITX board but no missed features compare to bigger boards except SATA Express and more PCI-E slot. We know some other Z170 Mini ITX board no even normal Sound Card(all sound like come from same place and same distance) no single USB 3.1 Port don't even to talk about two types of USB 3.1, half dedicate sound card, Bluetooth v4.1 and special not some U.2 with fastest possible transfer at this moment.
If you have U.2 you can use Intel 750 NVMe. Bluetooth on R5E saved me because I didn't have cable to connect cell phone to PC and I use Bluetooth to transfer some video about my unstable graphic card.
Instantly when you enable on cell phone you got message on computer and if cell phone is good transfer start.
I'm scare little of installation in so small form factor, I like small and powerfull RIG but with easy space to replace something.
You have Rampage 4 Gene, with X99 ASUS didn't launch mATX. But never mind anyway I decide to go with E-ATX.
But for next build Skylake E, not Broadwell my plan is mATX for Extreme.
