I have a ZX 170 Classified with 6700K chip. I'm waiting for my desired memory to come in but in the meantime I bought 2 8 Gb sticks of Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz. so I could use the computer.
It works fine when the bios uses the default speed of 2133 but as soon as I change it to XMP profile 3000 I get 4 beeps on the motherboard and a 55 Error No memory installed on the LED. Is this memory incompatible or do I have faulty sticks. It works fine at 2133. The CPU isn't overclocked but still at default. Tech support said that they read somewhere to get the memory to work I also must Overclock the CPU?

I should add that when I first set XMP Profile 1 and got the 55 post code error my memory was at default 2.23 volts . I then increase the voltage to 2.3 but it didn't help. I still got the 3 or 4 beeps and post code error 55 that no memory was installed. The 2 sticks are in slots 2 and 4. It does work fine at 2133 though.

I just ordered 32 Gb of Corsair Dominator platinum 3000. Ill see if that works. By the way pittsburghjoe I am from Squirrel Hill in Pittsburgh.

Joe I don't live there anymore. I have lived in Texas for the last 12 years. So when you set your memory to XMP Profile 1 you also get the 4 beeps and post code 55 that no memory is present. Have you tried it at anything in between 2133 and 3000? Thanks

That's correct, I'm not bothering with inbetween settings cause I paid for 3000, COME ON EVGA please address this.

3000MHz works on my Z170 Classified with an i7 6700K and G Skill Ripjaws 4. I just set XMP 1 and it worked. Maybe your memory is incompatible.

Can you pelase post the model number of your RAM so I can review?
Also, have you tried just setting the values on the RAM manually into the BIOS per what is listed on the memory?

I had somewhat the same issue when I installed 16 GB (4 * 4GB Sticks) of Corsair DDR4 LPX Vengenance 3200MHz.
Started a thread on here - have 6700k on Z170 Classified.
PC Wouldn't start up. Had 8GB installed in slots 2 and 4 - - had all settings set to auto so defaulted to 2133.
Then I flashed BIOS to 1.04.
Installed the final 2 sticks of RAM - all now recognised and at 2133. Rebooted, back into BIOS - set to XMP1 and worked ;-)

I'm using Bios 1.04 ..I fear it's the 3000 as apposed to your 3200 that is the issue.

I have a similar issue, I have the corsair vengeance LPX 3200 kit. I originally had 2 8gb sticks that I could get up to 3000mhz, but when I added 2 more 8gb sticks for 32gb ram total, the motherboard gave me the dreaded 55 postcode. I turned back everything to 2800mhz, and was able to get all 4 sticks recognized and working. Still though, XMP has never worked for me, and I've never been able to get the ram running at 3200mhz. Putting in the voltages manually and trying to overclock the ram manually hasn't worked either.
(FYI, this is on a Z170 classified board with 1.04 bios)

The Ram I have is Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4
Model # CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R
I haven't tried setting the values into the bios manually.
Tomorrow my Corsair Dominator platinum 32 GB, 4 8 GB sticks 3000 will arrive and I'll try that and report

I took out the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4
Model # CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R which was giving me the 4 beeps and post code 55 when set to XMP Profile 1.
I put in Corsair 32GB Dominator Platinum DDR 4 3000 Model # CMD32GX4M4B3000C15 today. 4 8 GB sticks. Again the same thing happened. It works great when set to default 2133 but if I set it to XMP Profile 1 and reboot I get the 4 beeps and Post code 55 that no memory is installed. I didn't have time to try manually setting the timings or voltage though. This ram runs at 1.35 V.
I had a similar problem with my EVGA X 99 motherboard but that was fixed with a bios update. ( I don't know if you remember but you helped me with that last year) Do I have to wait for that for the Z 170 board or do you have other ideas?

I have Corsair CMD32GX4MA2666C16 ram on an ASUS board experiencing same issues of not being able to boot with xmp enable or manually setting speed to 2666. So it seems there are issues w/ Corsair ram!

Weird. People usually blame motherboard manufacturer but that's not only fault of motherboard manufacturer. I think that memory manufacturers if they want to offer respectable kits need to have most important motherboards in their test lab. Because they constantly change kits and colors and size of modules and supplier of modules, etc... 3-4 most famous models from every manufacturer... Example ASUS... Deluxe, Hero, Extreme and one lower class, EVGA Classified, Micro, Stinger, GIGABYTE...xxxx.... MSI....xxxx. ASRock and they stay in their lab and they test on every motherboard and cooperate with mobo manufacturer to update QVL list to send them new BIOS etc. Not to send different expensive kits on market just like that. I talk about 20-30 motherboards every 2-3 years... That's nothing for memory manufacturer, they get that to make different pictures... CORSAIR sell two different products under same serial number, for same price, same name only difference is few little numbers visible only when customer unbox package. And that's only what I notice in Dominator class, what happen with Vengeance, Vengeance PRO, LPX I have no idea...

The Corsair Dominator 2666 ram I have on an ASUS z170 Deluxe is on their QVL list, I can get it stable at 2400, no boot at 2666. Haven't contacted neither Corsair or ASUS about it, thinking about leaving it since its been rock solid at 2400. Maybe a future bios release will correct.

I installed 32 GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum 3000 . Same thing happened with XMP Profile 1, 55 Post code that said no memory installed. I manually set the latencies to 15-17-17-35 and 1.35 V. I was able to get it working up to 2800. 3000 gave me the 55 Post code. I'll leave it at 2800 and wait for a bios update.

I'm thinking faulty bios, weak imc, or just bad ram. My g.skill ram is running at 3400 without any issues on my 5960x.

Pittsbughjoe, I put bios 1.05 in and manually set the latencies to 15-17-17-35 at 1.35 V and 3000 and it booted up fine. I'm not sure of the stability though as Intel XTU had a little trouble initially opening but then was OK. I'll next try to do it with XMP Profile 1 which are the same settings.
