Just installed and built my new rig but it wont even POST when I powered it on for the first time. It turns on for a brief second then restarts all over in an endless cycle. I thought that it might be the Corsair 128GB 2800MHz kit so I removed 64GB and it still wont POST, only turning on then off again like before even only tried with 1 16GB Stick installed in slot 1. Then I thought that it might be my ASUS ROG RAIDR PCI-E SSD which is installed in Slot 6 so I removed it but still the same thing.

Sounds like it might be shorting somewhere in the system.  Leave only essential components installed, test.  If the behavior is the same you'll need to assemble the system outside of the case on a non-conductive surface like the mobo box or a wooden table.

Had similar problem once. Everything was good at first glance, but then I discovered that on piece of wood everything was working but inside case did something like yours (although it was before X99 times). Small piece of I/O shield slotted not properly and it was enough. Since then always testing everything before putting it inside.

Make sure you're using the MB standoffs.  A bad ground could result in a catastrophic failure.

I agree, one of your connections is shorting - "like a fan connected to wrong pins or something." It happened to me when I tried to connect my fan connector to PWR pins. Immediate removed it after powering off and it posted fine.

Maybe it's a shot in the dark, but i see you have 16 GB modules (128 GB kit).
This board didn't support memory modules that large until Bios version 1.18
(in other words, only the latest Bios version support 16 GB modules).

"Release Date: 6/19/2015

 BIOS 1.18/1.17 Updates
  • Adds support for 16GB memory modules"

Do you have any smaller modules to try?

Are you up and running now, or are there still some issues?  We are here to help if you are not 100% yet.

I actually returned my X99 Classified mobo for a new one. But the same thing happens. Then returned my 5960X for a new one, but the same thing. Then my 128GB memory kit and still the same thing and this time I had it on a non-conductive surface. I think it could be because of my memory kit and the mobo doesn't have the lastest BIOS on it. I'm going to purchase cheap smaller memory kit then flash the latest BIOS and see if that will work.

EDIT: Also, when I turn on the power supply (not my system), there's a red LED that's lit up on the mobo near the 24-pin ATX connector. No blue LED either where I think that should be on if the system was on standby.

Just check with EVGA's MB compatibility list

From what SuperConker had posted above saying that BIOS v1.18 adds support for 16GB memory modules, I think that's probably the main issue and that I just need to be able to flash it to the mobo with a smaller memory stick. I found a Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB memory module at my local computer store for less than $50 and I'm going to head over there and purchase tomorrow. Then after flashing the latest BIOS on to the mobo (if that was the issue to begin with) return the module for a full refund after testing my 128GB memory kit on the system first.

My memory kit isn't on that list. It's the Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD128GX4M8B2800C14 kit.

I had the same issue and it ended up being the Corsair power supply. When I swapped in the new EVGA power supply it worked fine.

Well I definitely know that it is not my power supply because it's what I'm using right now on my X58 platform that I put back together for the moment until I can get my new system to work properly.

EDIT: Doesn't the X99 Classified have a removable BIOS chip? If so, would it be possible to get one with the latest version to simply swap it in?

The old AX1200 PSU's AFAIK weren't an issue with X99.  The "AXi" series from an old batch before the firmware got updated was.  I had a blowout after a few attempts trying to get the BIOS to display, still not sure if it was the MB or the PSU but all signs point to the PSU but everything is running up to speed now with the updated PSU, RMA'd MB and GPU, etc.

The BIOS chip is removable but again AFAIK, EVGA techs are allowed to swap it I believe.  Can't recall but I feel that was said to me on the phone last I spoke to a tech when I had issues with the MB late last year during the blow out.  The good thing is, it is removable so it doesn't necessarily make the MB totally useless if there were a massive catastrophic BIOS failure, plus you have 3 different ones to choose from.

Definitely, contact support and they should be able to help you out there.
Also, once you have a working BIOS, I would recommended hotflashing one of the others from within the BIOS.  Once that is done you can pop out the replacement chip, put the old version chip back in boot off of a different flashed BIOS, go into BIOS, flip the BIOS switch over back to the removable one and you can flash that to have a backup chip that has a good BIOS on it for you incase anything ever does happen.

Well, I was able to update the BIOS on the mobo using that memory module that I purchased earlier and now everything is up and running. Just installing Windows now on it. EVGA might want to update their memory compatibility list for the mobo because mines are now totally working fine.

Glad to hear you are working as intended now.  As for testing, that is actually something done by engineering, as there are some pretty strenuous tests we run before we say it will work for sure.  But I will pass your testing results and the part number of your RAM over to our engineering to see about getting it marked as officially supported.

Re: No POST X99 Clasdified 2015/10/08 17:47:11 (permalink)
One question, I just set up my RAID0 array of my 2 Corsair Neutron GTX SSD's which I'm going to install my games on. But after rebooting my system, the drive is half full and I haven't even installed anything on it yet. I have my OS and other programs installed on my ASUS ROG RAIDR Express PCIE SSD. Could the cause be my 128GB memory kit?

EDIT: NVM, I was able to solve the issue. For some reason my ROG RAIDR Express SSD was using the RAID0 array to dump all of the systems temp, cache and search indexes to the drive. I was able to free it up after installing the SSD TweakIt program that came with the ROG RAIDR. I just thought that was kinda weird because I've never encountered this issue on my X58 platform.
