Hi there and greetings from Poland! I've just received my new shiny gtx970 ssc acx 2.0+. I've only run couple of benchmarks and played Witcher 3 for a while but coming from gtx680 I've noticed a huge increase fps wise. The card runs cool and quiet on both stock bioses - I chose the more aggressive one which in my case starts spinning fans at 60 degrees Celsius as the other one kicks active cooling in only after 70. I was just wondering if anybody could tell if this settings are normal for this card and maybe share your recommendations on custom EVG Precision fan profiles you may be running. So far I have seen the card topping at 72 degrees at 25%rpm at 99% load inside my well ventilated big tower case. The only apprehension I have is that evga cooler pumps the heat inside the case and the card being installed in the top pcie slot directly under one of the fans on my Scythe Mugen 2 cpu heatsink exhausts hot air straight into its fins raising cpu temperature by almost 5 degrees. I tried to ramp up the speed of my case fans including one big 25-cm sidepanel one and although it remedies the problem it is at the trade off of increased whirl of the case which somewhat negates the point of having such a quiet card... I used to always buy reference blower style nvidia cards which vent outside the case and only got tempted to purchase evga aftermarket cooling solution on the strenght of rave reviews. Anyway could any of you mates share your comments and experiences with evga acx 2.0 cooling and its impact on the temp other components of your rigs?

Kindest regards!

    Hi there!
What full tower case and fans are you using..?
The extra heat is different based on the case really... well and card.

I have a Chieftech big tower case that has 3 80mm intake fans at the front, 3 exhaust fans at the back (2 next to cpu heatsink and one over the psu in the top compartment) and a big sidepanel fan. Basically to better describe my problem I have uploaded some pictures of my case.

The pictures are older ones with my previous gtx680 card installed as I'm nit at home right now and typing on my mobile. Unfortunatelly I cannot change the orientation of the cpu fans on account of the cramped space next to the hdds. I wonder if moving evga gtx 970 to bottom red slot which is also x16 may help?

I would say that yes it will have a big impact on the case temps... do you have a side panel fan? some of those chief-techs had one.
Here is one of my past systems I added a "blow hole" and side fan... that would help your case temps a lot.

Thanks for replying. I do have a huge sidefan blowing air inside. I posted some pictures of my case. Maybe you can't see them... But they should be viewable as I just looked at my post on a different device not logged to my evga account... weird. Anyway, the temp inside my case seems to be decent as it doesn't exceed 31-33 degrees Celsius. It appears as though all the heat from the card was sucked into the Mugen cpu heatsink. I can even feel it literally as it feels hot to the touch which didn't use to be the case before I had installed the new card. I was wondering if buying the evga dedicated backplate may have positive effect of spreading the heat originating in the gpu die evenly all over its back surface so that othrr case fans may absorb some of it. I'm also considering buying H110 Corsair water cooling solution and put it onto cpu to make more room inside the case and let cpu heat escape through water pipes outside the case. I was planning to buy another evga gtx970 next week to sli them but I'm afraid now that heat may become a majir hurdle for me and I'm not going to change my pc case aa I've invested in it a lot of time and money. Maybe I should have bought two reference blower style cooler cards and it would be a better solution for SLI. Yet I really like the evga card, appreciating its quiet cool operation and boosted clock speeds...

You can delete the text in them, but I don't think you can delete the post itself.  At least not to my knowledge.

You select the "Edit" button on the post you wish to delete.  Then remove the text in it...

This is what I've already tried. To no avail. It doesn't let you save the changes if you remove the whole text. Odd lack of functionality on these forums... By the way, judging by your profile picture you seem to be a Witcher series fan? I love these games and books, too. This is a Polish game based on our Slavonic mythology so obviously I'm a proud patriot here.... :-)
