  • I've gotten the word from Punchy that the prize winner's list has been double checked and is considered final - feel free to start the prize distribution!
  • Its up to donors and winners to coordinate getting the prize into the winner's hands, though I am here to assist if any issues come up.
  • Despite a few bumps along the way that are completely out of our control, its been a great Time Zone Challenge this year!
  • A HUGE thank you to drougnor, DutchForce, NotFordman, and Punchy for helping organize things; to all those who donated something to make this contest one of the funnest we've had in a while (including EVGA via Scarlet-Tech!); and to every person who took the time and effort to participate in the contest this year!!
  • Maybe we'll do it again next year...
  • Onward to 3 Billion!!
10/19/2015
  • Congratulations to Eastern Time Zone for completing the 2015 Time Zone Challenge!
  • All time zones have finished the 2015 Time Zone Challenge!  Take a minute to pause and give your computers (and power meters) a rest - or push on with the rest of us to 3 billion!
  • The prize drawing will be held at 9 PM Eastern Time this evening - drop by and check it out!
11/18/2015
  • The prize drawing will take place Thursday 11/19 around 9 PM Eastern Time!    If you drop by at that time you'll be able to see the drawing take place, which will determine the order in which individuals pick their prizes (with Punchy's prize picker found here: http://forums.evga.com/2015-TZC-Prize-Preference-selection-process-m2413538.aspx ).  After that it will take 20-30 minutes to run the pick order through tool and double check them by hand.  The final list of who has won what will be posted on the contest site as soon as this process is complete.
11/17/2015
  • The live drawing for prizes will be held soon after all teams have completed the 2015 Time Zone Challenge!
  • If you have not submitted your prize picks before the drawing, it will be impossible for us to give you a prize.  (Punchy's mind-reader tool is still in development )

11/16/2015
  • Congratulations to Mountain-Other-Pacific for being the second team to complete the 2015 Time Zone challenge at 2:00 PM (Eastern Time)!

11/13/2015
  • Prize selection is currently underway.  Thanks to Punchy we've got a really cool prize selection tool and process for more details see the thread he created on prize selection here.
  • Please carefully read and follow the instructions on Punchy's prize selection thread.  You are responsible for filling your prize preferences out correctly.
  • A general overview of the prize selection process: everyone enters their preference order for the prizes that are available.  When the final team completes the 2015 Time Zone Challenge we will have a random drawing of all eligible participants that evening to determine the selection order.  Running them through the preferences Punchy has collected will allow us to instantly announce who has won what prize!
  • Please take the time to read and follow Punchy's instructions.  We've got a lot of great prizes this year and don't want you to miss out on your chance to win!
  • If you prefer to pass your turn in the selection process please fill out the form leaving it blank so that we know that this is your intention.
  • Fold on - we're almost at the end!
11/12/2015
  • Congratulations to Central Time Zone being the first team to complete the 2015 TZC at 1:00 PM Eastern!

11/11/2015
  • Just a quick reminder to everyone that there is only two days left to donate prizes before the prize pool is locked and the selection process begins. Once again a big thanks to all of our incredible team members who have been incredibly generous in donating prizes this year!
  • Be on the lookout for a thread on the prize selection process from Punchy toward the end of the week.
  • Central Time Zone is nearing completion of the 2015 Time Zone Challenge, returning to victory lane after a 3 year absence.  Prizes will be distributed after all teams have completed the challenge.  Fold on!

11/5/2015
  • A big thank you to all the generous donations by our members and EVGA giving us an incredible selection of prizes this year for our participants!  The generosity and camaraderie among this team never ceases to amaze!
  • Prize donations will be accepted up until Friday November 13th at 12 PM Central Time.  After this prizes will be locked in and Punchy will make his prize picker available to begin the selection process.  More details on this process will follow at that time.
  • The drawing for prizes will occur after all teams have completed this year's TZC.
  • Finally, as a team we have put up some extremely impressive numbers so far during this challenge.  Producing over 100 million PPD is not only a new record, we've done it everyday so far this month!    Even more impressive, we're producing 20 million PPD more than we were at the same time last month (so it is not just the bucks folders dropping by).  If we keep up this pace a 3 BILLION point month is a realistic, although very challenging goal.  Do we want to take on this challenge as well?

11/1/2015
  • The 2015 Time Zone Challenge is officially underway!
  • Mountain, Other, and Pacific have been combined into a single team in order to be competitive with Eastern and Central.
  • The contest goal has been shifted to 200 million points per team to stay in the general range of a 2 week contest for all teams.
  • The main stats should be displaying on the contest site - other stats will continue to be added
10/28/2015
  • Just a quick reminder that there 2 days remaining before the official registration for the contest closes.  In the past we've been able to let people get into the contest until right before it starts, however, drougnor indicated his schedule is incredibly busy at the moment and most likely will be unable to accommodate last second registrations.
  • Thanks to the generous donations of our team members and EVGA we've got an incredible prize pool this year - lets get the word out and get as many people signed up as possible!

10/15/15
  • Thanks to notfordman for taking on the challenge of coordinating the recruitment effort for this year's TZC.  The more people we get involved the more fun the contest becomes so if you have any ideas to bring participants to the contest you are encouraged to pursue them or let him know about them.  If you would like to help out but aren't sure how shoot notfordman a PM and I'm sure he can find someway to help get more people involved.

10/7/2015
  • In 2009 Zerran2001 created the inaugural Time Zone Challenge Folding contest for EVGA's folding team.  This year we hope to continue the tradition of good-natured fun and trash-talking among our team in a contest that is bigger and better than ever!
  • The 2015 Time Zone Challenge will kick off on Nov 1st at 12:00 AM Eastern Time
  • Signups for the 2015 contest are now open.
  • The contest site is in the process of being updated
  • Prize donations are currently being accepted.  Prizes are a fun way to encourage and reward contest participants or pass on old or unused hardware to a fellow folder.  Members of EVGA's folding team have a history of generous donations to folding contests - let’s hope that tradition continues!
  • This year will (hopefully) feature a new measure of competition among the time zones where the points are adjusted by population living in each time zone.  This should make for a more competitive division of the TZC, though it is experimental and will supplement rather than replace the traditional competition.
  • As always, we are looking for anyone willing to help out with putting this contest together.  They take a large amount of time an energy to organize and any help you can provide is greatly appreciated (absolutely no prior experience is necessary!).  Please shoot me a PM if you are interested in helping out.
  • Thanks once again to drougnor the stats PIMP for providing us with detailed hourly stats updates and DutchForce for his work behind the scenes in helping this contest come together!

We will see who rules this year.
The registration wants to know how many points we will fold and I have no idea as I just fired up my new build.
    Looks like 2 + million a day.

    Hey Guns
Best estimate is all that matters. Just trying to avoid sandbagging. (like estimating 100k and producing 10 times that.) We all know that rigs can blow a tire, and conversely, new hardware can be acquired (a good thing for folding) during the contest. So your best guess is fine.

The past couple years its been DutchForce who distributes international participants onto appropriate teams.  Its not based solely on the team with the lowest points, but he does it in a fair way to make the contest as competitive as possible.

As far as accuracy of PPD, use your best estimate.  You don't have to sign up immediately so you've got some time if you wanna do a small test run, but usually the official registration ends about 24 hours before the contest begins so that drougnor can get everyone into his stats system and anyone added after that point is at his discretion (based on whether he has time to add them or not).
