Okay not sure too many people are checking here but here goes.  I've been ignoring issues with this (X79 Classified) board for a while and decided to finally update the BIOS, looks like all the issues have been taken care of in the newest BIOS.  Problem comes in the fact that I can't seem to get mine to update.  I've tried both running from windows and running from command prompt and it always seems to lockup my computer.  In the command prompt after running it I get a message in yellow that says "PDR region does not exist" not sure if this is bad but after that my computer locks up.  I've tried waiting to see if it clears up but nothing and end up doing a hard restart.  I have a support ticket out but feel like I'm getting a bit of a run around, maybe just that its a different person answering every time, who know.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Did you reset your Bios to the Default or Press and Hold the Small Red Button on the MB or back on the I/O Plate for 5 Seconds and then boot up to a USB Flash Drive and then update the Bios using the old DOS way.

Well I tried but I think my motherboard is turning off the USB 3 headers during boot.  I can get the USB device to show up in the boot list but I can see it turns the lights (on the pen drive) on than off and back on again and the off appears to be right around boot selection.  I tried using the USB 2 header but it wont even show up in boot list.  Maybe I'll grab my Win98 CD and just boot into DOS with that and run the Flash from the pen drive that way... or make a CD.

EDIT: Well that worked.  Booted from Win98 CD into DOS and ran flash from C:.  New BIOS installed and working great, WOW what a huge improvement over stock BIOS.

Thanks AGAIN for your help!
