Hi All,

I'm going to buy GTX 980 Ti. Please help me make a choice between SC+ and hybrid. Which one could be generally quieter on stock (idle / load) comparing to my actual Evga Gtx 970 FTW?
What is a standard rpm of turbine in hybrid and how much it can be control in idle? Personally I would prefer hybrid much more, but I am afraid a little about a noise level :)

I will be grateful for help!

There are two fans on the HYBRID, the blower fan and the radiator fan. The blower fan is controlled by Precision X or Afterburner software, and the radiator fan is at a constant quiet speed. If you play at stock settings, either one will be quiet, but I recommend the HYBRID as the lower temps will probably get you better out-of-the-box boost clocks.

That shroud is looking awesome. I'll be checking back weekly for it to be available!

I'm not missing out on this like I missed out on the 970 backplate initiative!

lol i guess i'll have to work some extra hours to get more EVGA goodies , damn it guys come on xD

about hybrid vs SC fight:
i got myself a hybrid because of cooling solution and the card is blowing hot air out of the case , not like the double fan SC cooler is doing, i had similar solution on my old ATI 6870 and i had problems moving that hot air out , i currently have CM HAF922 case with a lot of fans , even more then declared lol , but since i don't know what case you have and can't give you a good advice.

with stock fan i had about 28-32 *C idle (depends of ambient temp!) and 35-40 *C in games. since i mouned a 3000 RPM in push pull with the stock one , the card isn't getting hot at all with some older games, but the highest temp was 44*C after 10 hours of constant gaming.

in the end it depends of you personal prefference and if you're going to OC the card the Hybird cooler is going to be a better solution to have.

I am looking to get the GTX 980 ti Hybrid in November but was wondering will the new shroud be on the new units once its released or will we need to register the unit and wait for the new shroud to be shipped?

My guess is you'll have to wait for it.

This shroud is even better than Ex... Like professional NVIDIA graphic card.
Immediately you recognize NVIDIA graphic. Simply amazing. But I must stop to think on that, I want to enter in water cooling finally with EKWB Predator and EVGA Hydro Copper block with 6 ports is not less beautiful.

This new mask is far better and look stronger than MSI 980Ti in cooperation with CORSAIR.
Mixing two famous brands on one product is little...  they need than to mark both on same product...
Anyway that's Asetek cooler. Than better call Asetek directly, cheaper and you can sell only as one brand.
I mean GTX980Ti MSI with AIO system is very nice, similar as 580 reference.
But this is premium mask, I would replace original with new for sure.

FYI, if you're looking into getting a Hybrid, Amazon has them for $710, so about $40 off retail. I was deciding between a FTW and Hybrid and hoping EK would come out with the block for the FTW, but i might just jump on the Hybrid since it's only $30 more and keeping Maxwell cool seems to be more important than extra power phases, which is the only real advantage of the FTW.

People in Europe who is interest EVGA 980Ti Hybrid is now available in EVGA Europe same as most of other
980Ti models except FTW and Hydro Copper. I believe in smallest quantity arrive Hydro Copper.
All reference normal and SC models are available, same as ACX 2.0 normal and SC with Backplate.
Backplate is available as well for 980Ti and TITAN X.

Hi guys im confused. I have questions about priority button on precision x16 how it's works can somebody explain for me detailed.

1. If i put priority on power it's will thorrtle back clocks if 110% power reached?

Like on hybrid we dont care about temperature.

2.Then i shut put priority on temperature ?

3.Because i think i have more headroom on
temperature then gpu dont thoŕrtle back my clocks if priority on temperature ? And gpu will obtain more power ?

4.Im true?

I hear about headroom but dont understand much :(

This is one guide from Anandtech for EVGA Precision X Overclocking and Settings.
It's newer version of Precision X with Power Target and GPU Temperature Target as last versions...

SiAScORCH
JerkManOn that note, do you know what the specs on the stock EVGA fans are?

Max settings:
CFM: 69.5
mm-h20: 2.76

Does anyone have the start-up voltage for this fan? I've noticed since I've put a [censortron is fail], which seems to be a zener diode for ~3.9W@.5V, the fan doesn't kick over 'till 49℃, but will stay on after that …

Should, yes. The one they released is the mini card with an extended piece to attach the cooler .

How is your experience regarding push/pull in the meantime? Which fan's are the best for push/pull (performance and noise)?
Thanks.

There's an acoustic issue at idle, in part 'cause this fan is wired to the mobo and runs 100% all the time, but you only really need to think though the mounting like any other matching 120:

Re: GTX 980 Ti HYBRID 2016/05/24 23:57:32 (permalink)
So from what I can gather around the web, it seems a lot of people have been having problems with the pump making excessive noise on the 980/980 Ti Hybrid. Mostly this isn't a defect, I know this, however it seems to be stuck air bubbles and how the Asetek pumps are designed (some report not having any noise at all). It's a common problem with these kind of AIO, I have experienced it myself with Corsair's AIO.

This makes me wonder if EVGA will consider using Asetek PWM pumps on their next models of the Hybrid series, like the GTX 1080 to avoid high pump noise when the graphics card is in idle.
