Hello, first off welcome to the forums!
Postcode C is normally something is not making a good connection or is not plugged in.  First off I would double check the EPS connector make sure that is plugged in, I have done it myself when I had changed out a board, got postcode C from not plugging that in.  I would start there, make sure the EPS is firmly plugged in and if your PSU is modular make sure it is securely plugged into the PSU as well, and the PSU portion will likely be labelled as either CPU or EPS.
Try pressing the CMOS reset button as well, that may help. If this does not resolve the problem I would next strip the board down to barebones, CPU+HSF, 1 stick of RAM, GPU that is it and try to get it to fire up.  Also, if this does not fix it, reseat the CPU in the socket and make sure that you do not have any bent pins in the socket, as that can cause this as well.  Also, not as likely, but it could be a grounding issue, if the other things do not work I would recommend pulling it out of the case and testing it on a non conductive surface such as anti static foam, wood, or even cardboard and retest there.

Typically a C code out of the box is just something grounding, or a connection problem, occasionally a bad component.

Whoa!  Not sure how it even allowed you to clamp it down.

Nonetheless, glad it all worked out but I would make sure the bottom of the CPU isn't scratched up badly or bent pins.

You could have turned the socket around... Lol... Just kidding!

OK, I can understand why you did it.. EVGA had the cpu lettering upside down in the socket.. Not sure if there is a specific reason behind this, because my Asus board has the cpu lettering right side up.

Let us know how everything works. Rookie mistakes happen.. I couldn't figure out why one stick of ram wouldn't seat.. I had it upside down, and though I had verified the direction it was supposed to go... Whoops. No harm no foul. :-)

Yeah I checked to make sure the pins weren't bent, they were all seated properly and the bottom of the cpu was fine it for because the processor has the same grooves on the top and the bottom so it fit properly but obviously doesn't function as intended, lol.

You learn something new every day. I always wondered if CPU will work if rotated by 180 degrees. It seems I have finally found the answer. :)

Glad everything is working OK after mishap.

Yeah, stuff like that happens, wasn't sure you could do that, but then again I have seen a lot of stuff in backwards over the years, as long as it all works, no reason to worry.  Glad you are up and running now.
