Hello, I just install Z97 Classified with 2 290X Radeon card water cool. and at device manager won't see my 2nd video card, In bios only shows a single card install. The link give me warning saying is disconnecting the virtual cuz of incorrect GPU setting. Any idea what can be causing this issue. The video card are new. Motherboard is about 8 month old, I bought it from Newegg. I would appreciate any feed back. Thank you.

    Can you test one card at a time? Do both of them show up in Device manager in windows?

    Make sure all of the PCIe lane dip switches are in the on position. If one is turned off, your card wouldn't show up.

    Can you post all of your system specs please? If they are in your signature, I won't be able to see them until I get to a PC.

    Also, is your bios and everything fully up to date?

    Yes they are in signature the basic things. Bios, yes my bios are up to date, Just for the purpose I up dated them again, thinking they when wrong or something. I had this system running previously with no problem, now won't show my 2nd card or say crossfire at all. it sound to me is the plex, I am not and expert but I hold my own. Apparently sound like the GPU link shut down. Actually I am using it now, without any other problem, is kind of weird. Any idea?

    Ok, so try the very middle lane, which won't use the plx at all. If both cards work in the top lane, then the center lane should recognize the second card.

    I had a similar problem with two z87 boards.  My original board did not like any of the bottom slots being used apart from the 1x only slot.
    RMA board had the tendency to randomly not recognize bottom cards, along with other issues not related to the slots.

    PLEX chip is probably messed up and you'll be pulling hairs trying to get it to work.  If yours is as messed up as my first motherboard...I wasn't consistently able to install -one- videocard total, put in the bottom slots and have it stay working.  Sometimes I could trick it into being detected by initiating a hardware change in the bios but it would be gone the next reboot.  Tried 3 different nvidia cards all had the same outcome, don't have any amd cards.

    I guest this is and RMA situation, I am just skeptical about RMA, thinking buying a new one RMA this one and sale it. The issue is whether I would by the same board. Any idea for different type of board that you can recommend, I like EVGA it just that I had several of there boards and run into problem, but then again most enthusiastic board have the same problem. I was thinking go with Asus. I would like to maintain with DDR3 type memory, am not interested in Z170 at all.

    This is the message I get from Virtu MVP;
    Wrong GPU configuration. Please check your hardware/drivers.
    Disabling Virtu MVP 2.0, and exiting.

    Never had this issue before. I try reinstalling the drivers several time including doing a clean installation.

    Virtu MVP I believe allows you to utilize your on board graphics from your CPU... It wont necessarily help with your crossfire situation... I wonder if those drivers are conflicting with other hardware since the Virtu stuff is pretty old and hasn't been updated in years... You may want to try uninstalling Virtu and see if your other problems clear up

    So just to confirm the cards work fine with one at a time in your system right? Also I would just RMA your board. No need to be skeptical about EVGA warranty I promise you the world their support team is amazing and not no bs of (lets give this guy a used board and call it a day) They will try to repair your board if needed. I would call EVGA support and have them trouble shoot it with you. You can ask their support team anything and they will know what you are talking about. They are not idiots like some support teams I have gone through reading out of a hand book to help. Let us know what they say after you give them a call

    Btw I see you live in Houston. Microcenter could help you. Have you ever been there before?

    Yes they all work one at the time. I will give them a call tomorrow to tech shop see what they say. Yes I do live in Houston, but at the time I am in El Paso TX, doing a government project been here for almost a year, maybe another 6 month more. I might just buy a new one and RMA this one and sale it later, I just don't have the time to wait for RMA. But I do appreciate your advise, I'll be calling EVGA tomorrow.

    Just talk to EVGA support very helpful, Is and RMA situation, I explain everything I did that was the right procedure to recognize where the problem is. They did agree that was a motherboard issue. I do thank you guys for all the respond and support in this forum.
