Hi everyone,
I was wondering if someone could shed some light into this issue that I am having. I bought a second hand 1 year old gaming PC with the spec here:
- ASUS motherboard: P8B75-M (AMIBIOS)
- GTX 660 ti Signature 2
- 1TB Western Digital HHD
The PC was running fine accordingly to the seller without a hitch. I didn't have a keyboard so waited a week after purchase to test it out. So the big moment came and blank screen on the monitor. The monitor works fine without other PC/laptops- DVI/VGA wires are all working.
So I did a lot of testing - reset the CMOS via the jumpers method and removal cell battery...etc.
It turned out that the GTX 660 isn't working - 2 beeps from the PC and nothing on the screen. When I removal it and use the built in GPU on the motherboard, it works just fine. All the seller said that the night before he sold it, he reinstalled windows 7 and updated the BIOS for the ASUS motherboard. According to AMIBIOS beep codes, two short beeps is the sign for: A memory parity error has occurred in the first 64K of RAM. The RAM IC is probably bad.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks
