Has anyone played Mad Max yet? I had it on my wishlist, but only decided to pick it up after seeing the "overwhelmingly positive" reviews on steam. I must say it's been a while since I've played a day 1 release that was as well optimized and polished as this one. With my 780 ti, I'm able to play this game at 1440p and everything maxed out at a steady 100 FPS. I've only got a few hours of game play so far, but it's a pretty good game IMHO. It's definitely not a survival game, so don't buy it if you're expecting it to be. The combat is very similar to the Batman Arkham series. This just proves what a sad state gaming is right now, when I feel the need to take time and praise a game for running well on day 1 though...

http://forums.evga.com/Mad-Max-multiple-choice-trailer-m2381500.aspx#2387964 Played a few hours - * I'm hooked* first 20 minutes or so, I was MEH - kinda plain generic console fare. - then some more opened up for me & I thought , oh that'll be cool -then a few more missions and even more stuff gets shown too you - by a few hours I was shown a lot of potential depth of customizations, from different cars/ body styles , to car upgrades all over, - then your character appearance unlocks, to RPG-lite perk improvements for your guy ....etc....etc. -started in 1 garage, it got raided- had to move/ make a deal w/ another guy -few missions in - shown how to get upgrades for that new base / vehicles / guns / stats etc.. - saved a bomb sniffing dog companion - -mechanic made a 1st stage sniper rifle for me * and map all opens up like shadow of Mordor, Far Cry,assassin creed, GTA ...* scout out areas & more missions/ items open up..etc.. IF all else fails and you don't feel like doing any missions - just wander about the wasteland & in less than 10 seconds a bandit patrol will give you some vehicular hell. ! *worth every penny in my book *

Thrilled to hear it, looked way fun, grabbed it from Greenman Gaming, but have been so swamped outside of work recently I haven't had a chance to play it. Looking forward to this even more now!

Will be picking this up myself -- not sure when I'll actually play it, as I still want to play more Project CARS, Diablo 3 just started Season 4, will put an hour or two into Rocksmith 2014 every day... My gaming time is nearly tapped out at that point. Will have to make a concerted effort, though, as this game looks great.

it's pretty good. there are two things that would make this game better: 1. control the car's direction w/ a mouse....like rage 2. getting in and out of the car is becoming annoying. other than that, I like it. it was worth the $19 I paid on that one discount site.... GG

Just saying, because I wasn't sure if you wanted to see it higher than 60 fps.

Tried 3 Way SLI (set one dedicated to PhysX to disable it) and currently.. steady at 210+ fps, 1440p, Everything at High or Very High with AA at 16x. All 3 GPU's running 90%+. Not a single issue with this game, aside from some of the races I can not beat.

Yeah, these two games are a HUGE breath of fresh air lately. Metal Gear Solid V is a game of the year game for sure. Mad Max is great too, Metal Gear Solid V has more depth though.

I got frustrated with MGSV after waiting an hour to get out of the very first cut scene where you occasionally press W or C... As soon as it finished, I did the first mission and decided to try out Mad Max. 30 hours later, I have finished the first two sectors, and getting ready for move onto the next one. I loaded the newest driver, and with SLI disabled, I am getting 90+fps on a single 980, 1440p, everything at the absolute Max I can set it to. Enabling SLI with 3 or 4 cards (dedicate one to PhsyX just to see how it would react) and I get 220 FPS fairly steady with all GPUs at 89-99% usage, and 1.5gb of VRAM.. it rarely goes over 1.5gb of VRam, which is absolutely amazing to see... BUT with SLI, the game does crash, so I am not sure if it is something to do with my setup or something to do with the game at this point... Either way, I 100% agree, these games are a true breath of fresh air..

Yeah, I'm loving Mad Max & purposely avoiding as much main story as possible , having fun racing along slamming fools trying to jack my ride.. nothing like a 150 MPH head-on collision to send their vehicles exploding into flaming bits/ pieces all over. ...and the massive sandstorms that roll in are just like the one in the Fury Road movie , - extremely deadly to stay in/ drive in , you pretty much have to find shelter or suffer severe consequences Thumbs up to this game .

I got a few hours in on it this weekend too. It was REALLY fun. I have an older 60-hz monitor, but in SLI is was rock solid with everything maxed, never a single twitch, just smooth as glass. Game is seriously fun, for me, I'm not used to 3rd person games so it still throws me off some, but that's me, no fault of the game, I still am driving by braille, a/d for turning and the POV doesn't move with it, and that's on the mouse throws me off, again that is just me. Hearing how Chumbucket worships car parts is hilarious, it captured the wasteland vibe nicely as well as everyone being batcrap crazy, like the movie. I wouldn't say that this is the deepest most plot driven game out there, but so far, it is rock solid and just plain fun, in a REALLY destructive sorta way.

I was actually quite surprised with both Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V, both games deserve their overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Games that run great on PC (good quality ports), are a blast to play, and look VERY good. I hope this is a new trend.

^^ THIS! This proves it is entirely possible to have a complete, fun, STABLE, and graphically appealing game that will also play on a console. Nothing against consoles I just got very tired of games hamstrung by low end console hardware and terrible ports, this really was done RIGHT. Lots of fun on this one.

those are specifically for races. I found no use for them otherwise. they are all downgrades from what you can do on your own, and your fully upgraded maxxed out car will cause the race to say your car is unworthy, so you must "upgrade" to a specific one.

AH, OK - that might make sense then because DEATH RACES are one of the few things I haven't done any of yet......

Some of them are incredibly frustrating. Especially when they give you a slow unarmored can against 4 fully armored opponents and they are all trying to kill you.
