As the title says, the free DLC (yes you read that right, FREE for everyone) Night Operations is now available to play.  I'm downloading the update right now.

You may have to go to Origin and search Night Operations to get it... I did

It's free u til you read the user agreement. That is where you see that they have permission to vacuum your soul through your Webcam and sell it to Apple... I think it will be worth it.. Will try this when I get home Friday.

But still didn't have to accept anything when downloading it.

Played a bit last night. Was pretty fun. 

The new map is really fun.  Two other maps that are being converted to night are Siege of Shanghai and Golmud Railway.  They are basically done except the 360 and PS3 versions are having trouble with them, so they are making every platform wait .  I heard there will be another for a total of four, but not sure what it will be.

I'm no developer, but I think a LOT of the map elements do need to change. The map was never set up to be in a "night mode" so you have to allow for that and things like ambient and other lighting, more noticeable gun flash, different shadows, etc.  They even decided to put little red lights on the mines to make them slightly more noticeable. 

I wished it were that easy to just turn off the lights lol.... I watched the live twitch feed with the dev's and it was pretty much redone from the ground up. The map itself remained the same as far as layout goes. However, almost all new sound mechanics were done, new explosion effects, new destruction effects, new terrain effects, new shadowing. They even implement crickets and such in the background sounds if you listen carefully. I think they done a wonderful job...
 
I hope the next map to get the night version outside of those planned is Propaganda or even Lumphini Garden would be good.

Would be nice if they would of added these items below.

Add a flare gun (flare attached to a small parachute)
Add a strobe grenade 
New Commander assist- call in C-130 that does Angel Wing Flare Pattern to light up an area for 45 seconds

However, Nvidia and Win10 arent getting along well with SLI setups and my games crashed non-stop.

This is the only reason why I am still on 8.1 and haven't moved to 10 yet.  Once I hear they finally fix the SLI problem for good, then I will get 10.  I really want to try 10, but both my desktop and laptop use SLI :(

All the previous DLCs that came with Premium would automatically download when the update/patch came out; but this one is different as it's free.  BF4 will automatically download the Summer Patch for you, but the Night Operations DLC is a whole separate download this time.  You have to search for "Night Operations" in Origin and download it or in your library click on the i button on BF4 and scroll down to the add-ons, it will be down there free to download.  This confused many people including myself the first day trying to play it.  Can be found here https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/buy/76889/pc-download/addon/battlefield-4-night-operations
 
Or if you are asking how to play the new map in the servers, it will either come in on the regular rotation or you will vote for it if the server has a voting plugin like a regular map (called Zavod Graveyard Shift); but the server must of had the new map added to the rotation, there are still plenty of servers that haven't added it in yet.  There are a few Night Operations only servers that only play the new Zavod night map; this is how I've been playing it.

It took me over 10 minutes from when I opened BF4 in Origin to actually be in game.
Left 4 Dead 2, I am in play in under 3 minutes and usually even faster
Most other games like Skyrim are single player so they are ready quick

It takes me less than 30 seconds to be in game.  The server you were joining, did it have a queue?  Because that would be the only reason why it would take that long.
