Hello there, EVGA people.

I was wondering which of these two is the best for gaming perfomance.

Money is no objections here, I can get the 5960x for a rather good price, and so faar I am leaning towards it. Since I have the cash for it.

But does the 5930k have any thing better beside price tag, that would make people pick it over the 5960x?

In my understandin the 5960x is the top dog, and is the best pick if you want the best of the best, and some "future proofing".

In short, I wish to know if the 5930K has any values or quailties that beats the 5960X in any aspect ;)

Again this is pure performance, not price/budget/value. But pure performance.

A 6700k would be the best choice at this time. Once games start using multiple cores a 5930k/5960x will be the better choice. Get the 5960x since it has 8 cores versus the 5930k's 6 cores.

5930K has nothing more to offer than the 5960X.
it has just 2 cores less and thus lower price tag, that's all of it.

I have no idea what your personal "future proofing" is, 2 years 3 years or maybe 5?!
keeping in mind that most current games don't really use 4 cores it's going to take some quite long time until they utilize 6 cores.
not even to think about 8 cores, so you will have to be patient I assume.

Intel i7-5960X is real overclocking beast.
He OC excellent, give excellent performance, best Intel desktop processor ever made.
People love to push to 4.3-4.4GHz, but I think his ideal every day frequency is 4GHz.
If money is not problem and if you not change platform every 2 years than i7-5960X worth 100%.

I have no money to pay 1000$ for CPU, but I tried to buy him for 500e but someone was faster.
500e for 5930K I would not pay, if I go on 6 core and i7-5820K is enough for me.
Only i7-5960X have 20MB Cache and 16 threads, all previous Intel processors with 6 cores together with 5820K/5930K 15MB Cache and 12 threads. His Turbo Frequency is amazing as well, 500MHz difference.
Everyone who even think to say that AMD processors are better for oc should check i7-5960X and two other models with not so nice OC capability but very similar.

Get the i7-4790k or i7-6700k for gaming. By the time games utilize the power of the other chipsets, they will have newer chips out and those will be significantly lower in price.
